Gurianov was on the outs with Bowness. And even before Bowness "left", Gurianov stated that he didn't want to go anywhere else. With Dallas bringing in a new coach, I don't see them moving on from him. He's shown flashes of being a true 25+ goal, middle-6, scoring winger.

Now away from Bowness, who turned him into one of the most mismanaged players in the league, he's actually got a shot at consistently becoming the player he's shown flashes of being.

It's usually a 6th for star players rights
Marchment goes for no more than a 7th

Duclair is only 2 years older than Gurianov and paid slightly more than what Gurianov is (Duclair is 2x$3M left and Gurianov is an RFA coming off a $2.55M salary). Duclair had 31 goals this season; Gurianov has 21 in 128 games over the past 2 seasons. I don't think it makes a ton of sense to move Duclair, especially not in such a lopsided deal like this.

Edmundson and Hayes might disagree with you.

Goodrow went for a 7th last year
And Hyman was supposed to get a 6th

Goodrow was also clearly leaving as TB had no money left to keep him. This wasn't the case with Edmundson or Hayes, nor is it with Marchment. Hyman didn't happen so it's a moot point.

Point is there's no clear "price" for UFA rights. It's low, but it's interchangeable.

I would bet my account that Marchment is clearly leaving Florida

I'm not surprised if he does but they still in theory have got the money to re-sign him.

Personally I'd like to see the Habs get Gudas on the cheap from Florida as they will likely need bodies in the RHD role

They won't though, they need it for Huberdeau's extension

They get that money from Hörnqvist's expiring contract
