Jarnkrok is very likely just a rental. He didn't play nearly well enough to earn that deal

Its unfortunate that the Flames are in a bind when it comes to keeping the roster together, its a strong group that may benefit from just a couple of relatively minor tweaks. If Monahan can be traded, Treliving is willing to risk bridging Kylington and Mangiapane, and the Heat can provide a couple of in-house solutions next season, the team should be at least as entertaining and competitive.

If Lucic retires, his decision would help both Alberta teams, and as an Oiler fan I am certainly okay with that. Giving Calgary a bunch of spending room to improve its roster, and clearing a bit of cap space for Holland to improve his chances of signing Puljujarvi, McLeod, and Yamamoto for longer term just makes the Battle of Alberta better. I do think Calgary was a legitimate contender this season, and I hope they find a way to remain so.
