If Blake gives up any of Vilardi, Turcotte, or Kaliyev without attempting to O/S Kakko first, I will be pretty mad. Especially if Chychrun or a LD of that caliber isn't acquired first.

I agree Kakko should be offer sheeted, but the Kings have so many prospects that I don't want them to open that can of worms.

Kings forward prospects haven’t really done much. Byfield isn’t a good player at the moment Turcotte has been injured and hasn’t made a big jump. Vilardi Probably won’t be much of an impactful NHL player either.

That's kind of a strange statement considering all of them are barely over 20 years old except for Byfield who is barely 19...

well, if the rangers dont get a first round pick back, they will match any OS, no matter how bad it screws their cap. ist just too much bad asset management to let them go for anything less. rangers fans feels the same you do about kaliev, you would not let him go if someone game him a 4 million deal.

Arguably neither has Kakko, it's an investment in what you project the player to be like, similar to what the Hurricanes did to get Kotkaniemi.

Byfield will be fine. It’s Turcotte who the kings should have worries about.

I was uninformed about the current status of LA Kings prospects until you showed up. Thank you

Yeah Kakko is not a good player.

After seeing Bunting be a calder nominee at 26, and Kempe finally breaking out at 25, we have to be patient. Sometimes guys need to figure it out, very few players just get it and stick it out long term. The floors on Kaliyev, Byfield, Vilardi, Kupari, and even Turcotte look safe enough that they will at the very least hold NHLer value.

I'm all for the Buffalo and Petersen trade, even if we only get a 2nd and not a first.

its some nice work, but they could probably trade players like chytil, reave and goodrow if needed, maybe get a 2c closer to 5 mil. who knows really. i think they will valie keeping their second overall pick over those players. yes ot would screw them, but they will match nonetheless.

I just don't see them weakening their team just to keep unproven Kakko.

Just a thought that came to mind, as a CHI fan which maybe gives me some bias. But It's kinda funny how people hold Kakko up as this untapped massive talent and then talk about Dach like he is a bust, when Dach has quite obviously had the better start to his career through a lot more adversity.
