I'm under the belief that Vladdy is going to an east coast team in a sign and trade, and its likely going to be for a good, young defenseman, and Dobson was the first one I found

If you are under the belief that any team in the NHL will ever pay extra for a sign-and-trade you are sorely mistaken. That is simply not a thing in the NHL

That's why I signed Kulak. It was more about getting a fit for Perunovich and our play style

but are they really paying a lot? I know dobson is a valuable piece but Vladdy put up 30 goals last year and I know NHL teams eat that stuff up.

Under what circumstance would any GM, Give up a young stud Dman like Dobson? For an aging broken down Vlad Tarasenko who's already had two major shoulder injuries. Yeah this is so not happening.

Vladdy is a pending UFA and Dobson is a 50 point defenseman in a system that offers very little offense and just finishing his ELC. For example Zach Werenski was a 44 point dman at the end of his ELC in a very similar system

Tank could probably get a decent return but you aren't getting anyone with #1 potential for him

I was not aware of Dobson's value before this. However, if a GM can trade Pavel Buchnevich for Sammy Blais, anything can happen

Sure but that was seen as a bad trade even when it happened and that was more to do with cap issues.

Kulak can be a much better top line LD than Leddy or Scandella was thrown in there to be, and to be fair we shouldn't be spending more than 5 million on another Dman, we already have 3 at 6+

Vladdy is 29, had a fully healthy season, and put up 84 points. He's going to be traded this offseason, and some GM is going to pay up

Not for a Noah Dobson they wont, So sane GM would ever give up a Dobson for Tarasenko's whose value is nowhere near Dobson's.

This is a really bad offer to NYI. There are some players that are just untouchable to a franchise unless it’s for a top player with term. Tarasenko is a rental. Doubt Barby fetches a 1st either unless it’s at the deadline and he has a good follow up season, which I doubt he matches.

You are delusional, you wouldn't trade Tarasenko who's 30 years old, one year away from UFA, and gone through some major surgeries even if he was healthy this season, for a 22-year old right-handed defenseman that is already putting up elite underlying numbers and 50+ points as a defenseman under the most conservative, boring system in the league under Trotz. "fs Dobson is an RD", so you rather not take the best player you could get because he's a rightie LOL. This logic is so flawed, you always draft or trade for the best possible player, for instance the Blues could trade Faulk if it bothers them to have 3 highly paid RD. Would you have chosen Laine instead of Matthews in the 2016 draft if your team already had good center depth but a need on the wings?

@Db1899 this guy wouldn't trade Tarasenko for Dobson lol. And @HolyShildt doesn't even think Isles give up much in this deal "but are they really paying a lot?" Haha these fans...

"Are they really paying a lot?" LOL! Based on your comment you don't seem to have a clue about player valuation if you seriously don't think Isles are giving up a lot in this trade.

Barzal, Sorokin, Dobson, Pelech and Pulock are not available. Say it loud, spread the word near and far so we don't have to endure any more of this nonsense.

And he was paired almost exclusively with Chara.

Yeah exactly, Chára was one of the worst players in the league this season.

We aren’t gonna give Taresenko and a first for a guy that would be on our 3RD is Dobson a top 4 player yes but we have Faulk and Parakyo so it makes no sense for us at all
