Montreal traded Scandella to the Blues, we know how bad he is, we are not taking him back especially with his contract.

Overpayment for Setgachev. As far as the Tkachuk trade, I'm not sure. Blues should try to hold on to their youth players if they want to compete but it might be necessary for cap reasons in the future.

That Malkin contract is absolutely hilarious...

You MIGHT be able to offer him that when he turns 40. Maybe.

We woud never get Malkin at that price... He declined an offer from the Pens for 5 mil.

Also why would you trade a young star who is your new core and your captain? Are you high?

Scandy will not be sent back to Montreal, there is now way they would take him straight up.

And I'm sorry but trading binny is a dumb move. He proved that after a shaky season he is back to normal. Husso is likely gone.

Personally wouldn't do that Calgary trade. Kyrou is likely to keep playing a 60+ point pace yearly, ROR will likely be a top 10 center for the next couple years and the trade doesn't improve the team enough to pay that price.

Cmon, it took Montreal all that time to get rid of Scandella.

Husso is gone for sure. Maybe Halak as a stop gap until Hofer can make the jump next year or in 2024-25. Blues approach the off-season in two ways 1) push for a top end LD and trade Barbashev and Scandella or 2) trade just Barbashev and sign back Leddy and keep Scandella in the 3rd pairing

I'd rather have Krou and O'Reilly than Tkachuck nevermind the #1. Did you watch the playoffs?
