Pass Kyrou shouldn't be traded.
And Tkachuk will cost too much.

STL got destroyed 5v5 in the series and the team speed difference stood out to me. STL really needs to retool the blue line if they want to contend.

They had no forecheck whatsoever, but I agree. I think a big move is coming on the Blue line and I’m hoping for a big reshaping of the bottom 6. Nichushkin and lehkonen basically killed every blues cycle

It’s interesting getting other team's fans perspective. I thought Lehkonen was really good, and I thought Nichushkin was well below where he played in the regular season.

Interested to see if he was injured. But yeah, he's had 2 really solid playoff games out of 27

It’s a little annoying having to argue with blues fans about how our forward group with 9 20 goal guys is somehow overrated. I complained all year about how we had pretty limited versatility and defensive ability from the wings. Hoping we can find our own Lehk or Nuke cuz the two guys we had like that are now retired and in Seattle.

Yeah my contention going in was COL had more scoring depth because of scoring from the blue line. I was really surprised how little of an impact Saad, Buchenvich, Barbashev and Schenn had. The thing though that always impresses me with STL is how well they play that forward cycle on one side that ends up with a guy on the back door. Anyway good stuff mate!

Yeah not surprised Schenn and Barbashev sucked, but tbh Saad was quietly solid, Buchnevich had a couple excellent games too. But good point, Colorado shut down the cycle you mentioned, Thomas had no space to do his thing. Blues were super rush heavy this season and struggled to sustain time. Krug out didn’t help. Surprised how well the blues d kept Colorado away from the net (mikkola helped) but eventually the volume and possession killed them.

I think COL started to get swallowed up in the series a bit at points, the late goals in periods happening because guys got out of position, and the just complete shut down in game 5 for 20+ minutes where they just went into a shell. Personally I think something is wrong with Rantanen he missed the end of the season with illness, struggled with the puck and seemed slow the whole series. I think that his struggles really affected the top line. Kyrou was really good I thought, and he will get better especially when he learns a counter move to compliment his speed. Yeah 100% right the Blues did a great job keeping the net front clear for the most part, I also thought they did a really god job significantly better than COL did on the pk to. The PK is a massive concern for COL against EDM.

Funny you mention Kyrou, most blues fans are ready to cast him into the sun for missing those two chances and playing bad defense… like there aren’t 3 other forwards who are significantly worse defensively and ignoring he was the only guy who had a smidge of jump last night

Yeah he needs to get better defensively but he was the only guy that the COL defense was worried about getting back. It is funny because everybody on CF and about 80% of Avs want to murder Compher simply because they think he isn’t good or that he is massively over paid. I guess it’s all about perspective.

So much of fan perspective is based off of stuff that is ultimately irrelevant. Like they’ll remember one play that was really bad, or something a stupid media member said, or fall victim to their own biases. It’s why the “eye test” is more or less fake to 90% of fans.

Yeah totally, the league has changed so much. Fans fall in love with those small eye test moments and want to ignore the real results. Fans imo are notorious for loving on those bottom 6 guys they lay big hits but get destroyed in shot and possession metrics. Sometimes the least exciting player is being the most effective.
