If Andersen and Campbell aren't getting 5m in Toronto, I don't see why Varlamov would at age 34.

Isles are going to need more if they are downgrading from Varly and Mayfield to Mzarek and Holl.

They wouldn't want to pay Dach 4m based on his production, of course he isn't going to sign a five year deal talking any less. Most likely though they go for less $ and try to get him for 3-4 years. He has a higher ceiling but just as a comparison, when Kerfoot came in from Col with two 40pt seasons, they signed him to 3.5mx4. Best Dach has done with a significant amount of games is 30pt pace.

Leafs wouldn't do the trade either, so they wouldn't give more than that. Both teams are better off trying to trade their goalie to a team that needs a goalie/has cap (the buyout option saves them money as well for this year and costs ~1.4m for 1 year for NYI and 2 for Tor the years after their contracts are set to expire). Mayfield is going to be kept in NYI unless for an overpay. Holl can get moved for a 3rd or 4th somewhere.

Hawks have basically no forward prospects. If they traded dach they'd literally have 1 young forward left with any kind of upside. No chance he gets traded

Yeah. That's without even mentioning the log jam of LHD in CHI. Also, Dach's contract won't cost that much. He probably tops out at $2.5mil for his next contract.

The production will come just taking more time then expected

The Blues would not touch that if you only asked for a 3rd. Hell, they wouldn't touch it if you gave them a 3rd.
