Short Term Pain for Long Term Gain

Created by: NanooseBrown
Initial Creation Date: May 28, 2022

Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Team Explanation
These would be moves made to free up cap space, create future cap space, and to stockpile some draft picks. Including getting a second-round pick for the 2022 draft which the Canucks have reported wanting to do. A 1-year flyer on PK Subban as that would be fun for a year. It would mean that there would be $13 million in cap space for 2023-2024. Room to for Bo's extension and more free agent additions....

Minnesota and Florida both decline for sure. I doubt Pittymoves Marino for that, even if they get rid of Zucker. Also no reason to trade Hoglander for a late 2nd, he’s still really young and should have more value than that

I think Fiala has more value than Boeser

    My sentiments exactly.

And Los Angeles has no interest in installing Tanner Pearson 2.0, especially since they have an over-supply of middle-6 left-handed forwards.

Would have to add to Boeser for Fiala

If Devils take Myers, Garland would get heavily discounted (so no Smith, no 1st)

Lundell alone would cost way more than 1-year of Miller.

If Fiala and Boeser are swapped, VAN is the one adding
