Description
Forget picks and prospects. Leafs have to go all in this year. Dubas's mission should be to create the best line in hockey, and the most dangerous top six in the league. He already has 4 pieces of the puzzle. Just get two more.

Kane and Miller would be the perfect compliments to Matthews's game. And Tavares has played extremely well with Marner and Bunting in brief stints.

I'm not sure if that makes sense for CHI. They're rebuilding, so sending out Kane while retaining 50% for someone like Nylander who's not someone you pick up during a rebuild doesn't make much sense.

Good point. But I also think Chicago would want to do a favour to Kane by trading him to a contender so that limits their options. And Nylander is still pretty young, they can extend him and make him a core piece in a future team.

Maybe the Leafs woud need to send over a couple more prospects. Whatever gets the deal done.

I think Dubas is very hesitant to trade a prospect like Niemela or Knies for a rental. If there is an extension in place then that would make more sense.

I just don't think they'd take Nylander. I'm sure they'll take some roster player back in a deal as a spot filler, but they'll want a big picks/prospects package.

not trading that much of the future for 2 rentals like that. thats not what the leafs need. literally middle six players and a new goalie is it

It is a big gamble. But Kane is a hall of famer, and Miller is exactly what the Leafs need. But I hear you. The goaltending is the most critical area to address for Dubas.

The Leafs prospect pool isn't good enough to have any prospect be untouchable. If you want Miller you're gonna have to pay up regardless if there's an extension in place or not.

Knies and Niemela are grade A prospects. Miller would be a fantastic addition but he's not worth trading away the future. There are other top six options in free agency.

If you want a 99 point center you're gonna have to give up at least one grade A prospect. That's just a fact.
