Description
B's prospect rankings Post draft
1. Fabian Lysell
2. Cutter Gauthier 6OA
3. Brad Lambert 12OA
4. Mason Lohrei
5. Brett Harrison
6. Sam Rinzel 63OA
7. Ty Gallagher
8. Oscar Jellvik
9. John Beecher
10. Ryan Mast
I would assume this would put boston in the top 12-15 area for prospect pools

Columbus Trade Breakdown:
Columbus
1. Gains another player capable of scoring 40+ goals, solidifies top 6 winger corp
2. top 4 defensive minded dman to pair up with werenski, gives CBJ a solid top pair
3. Still has solid C core with Jenner/Sillinger/Texier/ Roslovic/ Kuraly
Boston
1. Gains a potential top line center for the future
2. Draft capital allows B's to build up their prospect core
3. B's gain cap space and become a much younger faster squad
4. Boqvist could become that Krug like PP1 QB for us though Mcavoy has been very solid for us in that spot i think i would prefer a Dman with a stronger shot and more offensive creativity running the PP1 spot
I do think Columbus might be slightly Overpaying but Boston is giving them 2 players that are already developed and will make a large impact for their team where as boston is taking on ore young guys who still need a lot of refining to their game and potentially may not pan out.

other trades i won't breakdown as they are more straight forward and not so large

If columbus wanted to keep the 12OA pick id consider subbing in these options instead
Option 1 - Alexandre Texier
Option 2 - Boone Jenner + 22 3rd
Option 3- Andrew Peeke + 22 or 23 2nd
Option 4- Kirill Marchenko + 22 or 23 2nd

The one thing i want boston to improve dramatically over the off-season is getting Dmen who can generate more offence, Mcavoy and Lindholm are both solid 2 way dmen who both provide solid playdriving abilities, Mcavoy has his speed and Lindholm is a very good passer. With additions like Boqvist and Hague you get 2 very good shots from the blue line that B's have lacked since krug and chara left, Boqvist is a very fast skilled dman who will bring a krug like threat on the PP for us and i think will be an even better 5v5 producer for us.
Pasta also agrees to an extension pre-trade probably 8x 8-9 mill range

Boston has to accept this. I hate the idea of trading my two favorite players, pasta and Carlo, but if this is the return I wouldn't ever doubt Sweeney. If Bergeron comes back he could mentor Johnson and maybe the other two if they make the jump while he is still playing.

Why would a rebuilding team make that trade exactly?

Absolutely no way the Jackets give up their whole future for one year of Pastrnak

1. Leafsleaks obviously you miss the point where i mention in the description Pastrnak agrees or signs an extension pre-trade

2. Glarson CBJ has a very solid roster and with Tex playing possibly all season and sillinger being more developed i would think this team could easily compete for a PO spot, Their wing corp with Pasta, Laine, Bjorkstrand and Voracek would be top 6 in the league and I think they would definitely bring the best out of young C's like sillinger and Tex.

also adding a top 10 winger in the league and a top 4 dman improves their roster greatly

Why would he sign an extension in Columbus of all places before he even gets there

the team is built more around his age Gap Sillinger/ Laine/ Werenski/ Carlo/ Gavrikov/ Bjorkstrand/ Texier/ other small pieces like Bean, Roslovic, Marchenko, Chinakov.
If boston doesn't win next season they won't be competing for a while. CBJ has a bright future and would give Pasta a better chance at touching the cup in the next 5 years

funny because other islanders fans have said they would give up a similiar package for Grzelyck who is a bonafide top 4 LHD something isles need.
Dufour had 1 good year in his +2 season in the QMJHL which is the highest scoring CJHL league. So he is a 20 yr old playing against a lot of 16-17 year olds and in an easy scoring league though he is valueable don't put to much value on him his comparison for game style and career projection for the last 2 seasons has been Cal Clutterbuck. In playoffs he also showed he isn't as dominant of a scorer as he looked in regular season

I think Lambert and Gauthier would both clock in above Lysell in the prospect ranks. And Johnson too.

1. Lambert
2. Johnson
3. Gauthier
4. Lysell
5. Rinzel
6. Lohrei

What Isles fan said that they'd give this up? It's way too much. Dufour is a solid prospect, regardless of "being an overager in a high scoring league." He's a projected 3rd line scorer, which is completely fine but that's an overpay and a half

Love Pasta, but Columbus would be very very dumb to move Johnson, 6 and 12 for any one player who isn’t a a first line center, if Columbus were to make this trade Boston would have to take back Voracek, Columbus can’t afford 4 players making 8-9 mil and have none of them being a center.

I wouldn’t mind a Carlo for Boqvist swap though.

How? Is that former 5th round pick lighting the world on fire or something?

I mean he’s worth a 2nd never mind two 2nds plus a potential top 6 winger who led the Q in Goals

so if boston gave up like a prospect or pick and took back voracek you would say yes?

Probably not tbh, as I said I love Pasta, but he isn’t worth 3 top 12 picks, that’s better than the picks Edmonton got in the Gretzky trade. Honestly McDavid is about the only player in the league I’d pay that much to get. Pasta is great, and as you said too 5 wing in the league, but even with an extension that too much. You essentially want 4 top 12 picks for Pasta and Carlo.

I would hate this Columbus trade. Just so much potential to be horrendous for them for the next 15 years. Would much rather take the patient approach and keep 4 futures.

Scoring as a 20 year old in the Q doesn’t really move the needle for me. Guys do that all the time and aren’t NHLers. Remember yannick riendeau? Guy couldn’t hack it in the ECHL and wound up playing in France.

A top four d man on a good contract is worth two seconds all day.
