I was thinking more because Rutherford loves him some Zucker but it would be interesting to see how much Allvin is running the show.

And definitely wishful thinking that Zucker could be traded for anything (including a 7th).

JR can love Zucker all he wants, he has also stated the team needs to shed salary and get younger.

Maybe Zucker+4th or 5th to Arizona instead? Only one year left on the contract so it wouldn't be too onerous?

and Burke loves him some Schenn. I guess that means he's gonna trade Marino for him

I think it's more likely than not that Burke is gone with the new ownership situation.

Historically, Los Angeles doesn't pay for rentals, and we could probably resign Alex Edler for considerably less than Dumoulin's cap hit and not have to expend assets to acquire him.

Yeah, LAK was kind of a placeholder, I think Dumoulin is a positive asset (i.e. won't have to sweeten the pot to trade him) but his value may not be much more than a 4th/5th (again, wishful thinking).

I think the new ownership situation was why Rutherford left. I think the process was well as on its way and he didn't want any a part of it. I'd assume Burke and Hextall were aware of it when they took over.

Paying Husso more than our All Star starter probably doesn't go over too well.

Yeah, the Husso thing is a hedge against it being the last year of Jarry's contract and the absolute dearth of UFA goalies on the market unless you want to revisit Casey DeSmith/Louie Domingue. While I am definitely a fan of Jarry's, I'm still nervous about what his next contract looks like. Aside from losing in the 1st round again, a lowkey bigger negative was not getting to see how Jarry was going to perform in the playoffs (I'm not counting coming into Game 7 cold after a month off).
