Honestly not a bad trade, but I still wouldn't do it because Mrazek had an extra year on his contract. Also Drouin could potentially got more at the deadline.

I don't think a 3rd and a B prospect is enough for MTL to take 2 years of Mrazek.

MTL would rather keep Drouin this year, and hope he play well until TDL so they can trade him for a good return. If not, he walk next summer

MTL want him gone, but can wait another year for his contract to end.

very very true that second year is kinda a killer
and can absolutely see drouin getting more later this year

the habs are not going to be able to compete, so mrazek would help keep them in the lottery race.
