Trades
1.
NSH
  1. Forbort, Derek
  2. Langenbrunner, Mason [Reserve List]
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (BOS)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (BOS)
  5. 2023 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Assuming a Bergeron departure Boston will need center depth. Johanasen had a good year and with some of the linemate options available with Bruins he could improve. Bruins get a cheaper 1 or 2 C with the cap hit only being 4.5 mil
BOS
  1. Johansen, Ryan ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Predators get a c-level prospect, Cap dump, and three picks
2.
NSH
  1. Fischer, Christian [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 6th round pick (ARI)
3.
NSH
  1. Kase, Ondrej [RFA Rights]
  2. Nylander, William
  3. 2022 3rd round pick (WPG)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Leafs have to give extra. They get a player with about equal production that gives more effort than Nylander. The most important thing though Leafs get 3 mil. in cap space.
TOR
  1. Duchene, Matt ($4,000,000 retained)
4.
NSH
  1. Grundström, Carl [RFA Rights]
  2. 2022 1st round pick (LAK)
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Kinga get a true first line right winger. In my eyes with that they could truly turn the corner to real playoff contention.

Wow these are one-sided, woof. Duchesne has one great year after two bad to dreadful ones and he's worth Nylander+?

The problem with the Bruins trade is that Johansen's contract is so bad that SEA didn't want him for free. On top of that, Langenbrunner is the son of the Bruins head of player development, so he's not being traded. Finally, Forbort isn't a cap dump.

Bruin's could have better options at center bc Johansen has struggled many of the last few yrs previous to this yr. Even at 4.5 he isn’t great. Prob around 5.5-6M you can get a better center in FA without trading the draft selections

Even with tanking in mind, retaining that much for so long on Duchene and Johansen doesn't seem advisable. No reason for TOR to consider that Duchene proposal anyway though. The Johansen one isn't good for NSH, and the BOS fans on here don't seem to like it either. I am a little confused on how Forbort is simultaneously a cap dump and a 2nd pair defenseman.

I think it makes more sense to buy out Myers, if a trade isn't there for him. Even giving up a 6th for Ruotsalainen is too much for me.

No GM is retaining over 26 million over a 4 year span without getting fired and sued and then fired again.

The NSH-MIN rivalry is fierce. There's no way the Preds are going to let MIN's most dead cap space title go unchallenged.
