Description
Heres why this makes sense.

Flames have a limited window before backlund is aged out and andersson and hanafin need new contracts.

Toffoli was a great fit in vancouver, kerins is a project but pelletier is a great prospect.

Van takes on 1 year of monahan and hopes he bounces back and then they give him a cheap and cheerful contract extension.

Miller at 9 mil for a long term extension is better than jonny who goes away in the playoffs.

That is A LOT to pay for one year of JT Miller - he's likely to walk as a UFA next summer.

I love Toffoli, but Canucks aren't in a position to take Monahan. We can retain on Miller, how about 50% for Toffoli, Coronato, and a 6th next year

They will only even consider trading him if they don't extend before the TDL next year or someone walks out a top 10 nhl player to match. And besides that new management team have no desires to drive the media bus
