You need to pay someone to take Lucic and Monahan goes on LTIR (he is done right?).

Gaudreau is closer to 11M and add another 500K to Tkachuk. I think many $1M extra for Mangiapane. Joel Farabee got more and he was mostly RFA years

Valimaki is worth more than a 3rd lol, Chicago is not the team though as they have way too many defense prospects already.

Monahan definitely wont cost a 2nd to move

No Monahan is actually ahead of schedule and should be skating again within a month.

Gaudreau certainly isn't getting 11M, probably gets around 9.5M, same with Tkachuk. For Mangiapane you are probably looking at the Rust deal

Gaudreau gets more. How do you think the guy with the most 5v5 points in the cap era doesnt get paid as a top flight forward. Maybe Calgary doesnt pay $11M but some will pay more than $9.5M. Devils would love to land him for $10M + and then trade their 1st for someone else

11M from the devils is literally only 1M more than he would get from Calgary at 9.5M. So sure they can try and offer him that but I bet he takes a 1M discount to stay with a strictly better team

As a flames fan i think Johnny wants to stay but i also think he is interested in seeing whats out there. I do agree with Treliving if he does decide to stay long term he could go down as one of if not the greatest flame ever. Monahan will be tough to move but i think given the right assest with him somone will roll the dice. Lucic will also be tough and due to the fact that he is loved in the room and is in the final year of his contract i think it may just be best to keep him this year let him walk next off season. Backlund is an option, but i dont like that he is the heart and soul of that team and is the longest standing flame currently. if they can keep th same core i think they can be in a very similar position next year.
