From what I've understood, he'd like to, but ultimately it comes down to money.

If Stars had the finances the pull that off he would've been signed after last year's draft. But Nill wants to avoid making the same mistake he did with Benn and Seguin.

So right now, it's looking unlikely that he stays.

Do you think they will look for other RHD if JK doesnt resign or is Harley ready and can play RD?

Nah, Harley's a LD. They'll look to replace him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nill looks at veterans like Petry or Burns even though I'm personally against it. Personally my favorite candidate is adding Liljegren via offer sheet, but also options like Bear, Shattenkirk or Walker are something worth considering as long as they don't come too costly. Same applies for signing player like Schultz from free agency.

Ideally the guy Dallas is after is one that can take Klingberg's role as a PP quarterback. Heiskanen can take the PP1 role but PP2 is open for grabs.

I think you could sign him for that money, but Dallas would have to go for a 8 years contract.

And, this is probably out of the question for Nill and is, IMHO, the reason why he is not already signed.

I would be OK to trade Gurianov + a 2nd round pick + a prospect idealy not named Bourque, Stankoven and Johnston for Schneider.

Schneider has a clear Top 4 potential that he will not reach in NY with Trouba and Fox in place for a long time.

I think Schneider will outplay Trouba in a year or two. NYR will not be moving him.

I'd look at Lundkvist instead from NYR. He's more of a puckmoving guy anyway. I think Dellandrea for Lundkvist kind of swap would benefit all parties involved.

I hope Klingberg walks. He was horrible defensively this year and he’s gonna be too expensive. We can really use that space for Robertson and Oettinger.

Honestly, if they're going to give an albatross contract to Klinger after how awful he played this year... I'd rather they let him walk and go hard on the offer sheet for Liljegren.

I like Klingberg. Especially at PP, he has a knack for finding the net from the blue line with that wrister of his. But it's not worth $7M+ which will be the cost to sign him, so he might as well be gone.

Liljegren offer sheet would be an interesting course of action which I'd really like for them to do.

I don’t think we could get Liljegrin.
Imagine Sandin rather than Liljegrin. You’d save money with the QO Guri requires. Trade for or sign a PP quarterback in the forward department.
I’m just thinking Harley-Sandin for years to come.

We need a right handed D-man though. I don't think it's sustainable to have only Hakanpää for the next two years.

I don’t think an offer sheet would work on them. Also, I don’t think Nill would do it. NYR or LA would be the most likely trade options.
