I doubt NYI and PHI make a deal, but more so, doubt PHI accepts that.

NYI is adding possibles/prospects/educated guesses for 2 players under the age of 25, cost controlled and performing on an underperforming team with subpar linemates/pairing partners. I just don;t think thats enough for both.

Bolduc has looked bad in the AHL over multiple seasons, Holmstrom looked good last yr in AHL, but didnt the previous 2 years, both are close to 22, but don;t look like top 6 guys, and look more like misses, so collectively they aren;t looking great. Also, PHI has alot of those possible middle six guys, so those 2 dont move the needle much. Raty and a 1st maybe gets 1 of them, but the other 2 prospects and a 2nd probably isn;t enough for the other.

I doubt NJ stumps up 2 high 2nds for Varlamov and while a 4th for Bailey is probably not enough, I cant see COL being the destination.

This sums it up nicely, if it was another first and upgrade those two prospects to either a good young player or a prospect with top 6/ top 4 potential I think Fletcher would definitely be more inclined to consider

I'd rather not trade our only good prospects

The value is certainly fine, but Bailey to Detroit is not a fit. Detroit needs to add an impact center up front and that's about it.

Agreed, but it would have to be one of a series of moves that clears out a bit of the logjam first...

Are you guys serious? Do you have any idea how bad the Islanders want to get rid of Bailey? He sucks and will be 33 by the time next season starts with 2 more years left. Absolutely terrible deal for Detroit to pay to add

I'd seriously consider accepting that offer of Bailey for a 4th. This team still needs a top-6 RW (in addition to a 2C and two LD) and Bailey is good enough to fill that role for a year and still have trade value at the TDL or the offseason, depending on how our season shapes. We'd fill a position of need as well as gain a profit when trading him on.

I don’t think Lou will have to worry about finding a taker for Bailey. A fourth seems low, but if ur trying to sign Johnny Hockey 🤷‍♂️
