That would be the Devils being too aggressive.

Oops, was moving him in and out and forgot about him. Tweaked it a bit. Not a great solution maybe, but not like Gibson would be cheap either.

I mean yeah, isn't too important exactly what that trade looks like, was just trying to get Holl out.

Yes this 100% falls short. Not sure Verbeek’s phone even rings

Kings have no interest in Muzzin. They have better options

You're probably right, but to make some serious changes the Leafs would need to get rid Muzzin one way or another, and I can't imagine there are many fantastic options out there, so I settled on this as a not so realistic but at least somewhat plausible scenario.

Yeah, I honestly don't think there are any worthwhile trades involving Gibson for the Leafs, he's too expensive (in terms of both cap hit and assets) and I would rather take a chance on someone cheaper or Campbell.

All teams not named Toronto easily pass.

And Andrew Copp is getting between $5,500,000 x 6 years to $6,000,000 x 6 years. $4,000,000 he laugh at.

"Getting rid" of Muzzin is a big mistake. He does a lot of good things for the Leafs and they don't have another player that does what he can do. Yes, they probably have 7 starting NHL defencemen right now. That doesn't mean they need to trade THREE of them and add another 3 guys that probably don't make them better as a unit.

Gibson has had 3 down years and costs a ton on the cap. He hasn't even been a top-10 goaltender lately. I'd rather sign Kuemper even if it's close money because it doesn't cost assets.

Los Angeles is not trading for Jake Muzzin just to help Toronto's cap situation, never mind overpaying with either a second-round draft pick or an NHL-ready young RD, let alone both. You could add your 2022 first and the Kings would still say No.
