Description

Blackwood bounces back and becomes a high quality starter. Meier signs the QO than this year signs lower cap hit long term deal with the devils. Holtz by this time has developed into a all-star 40 goal scorer. Side note: I am interested to see if holtz can translate to the NHL this coming season(2022-20223) because he has played really well in the AHL but has not done well in the NHL. Though when he plays with Hughes he will probably develop well but the team is gonna suck no matter what this coming season(2022-2023) because Ruff is gonna be the HC. Not firing Ruff is the biggest mistake Fitz has ever made and the worst mistake he could possibly make. Also one of the biggest makes by the owners to not personally fire Ruff or move him to player development. He has been a great transition coach as he has coached the team through bad years but has developed their young talent. Now the transition needs to be over and they need to contend. They need a coach that is gonna give them a chance

Theses moves aren’t even that insane they are all realistic. Most of them is talent developing while making a trade for Meier. Although this would cause 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 to be not good years. So this year I would add winger depth through free agency and I’m not opposed to paying a decent price in a trade for the right guy. But this year(the current coming offseason) they need to sign free agent wingers the free agent winger class is deep and well-rounded and they need to take advantage of it. Save the assets to make a big, surprising goalie trade as the goalie free agent class is weak.

That doesn't get Timo's skate laces. If you want to be serious the negotiations begin with Holtz.

Timo isn't going to choose the QO over a long term deal at around 8.5

I would do holtz and smith for Meier. But just so you know analysts are saying that gritsyuk is the next kaprizov so if I was the sharks so would want him more than holtz since holtz hasn’t been able to take his great AHL game to the NHL yet even though he has had opportunities

I think that's the basic framework, but honestly don't see NJD and SJS as good trade partners considering where they're trending currently.

That's not enough for Meier, and the price Devils would have to pay for him would be much higher than what I'd be comfortable with (Holtz, 2022 1st etc).
Since this is the 24-25 season, I think the roster would be just as good with Cooley replacing Meier in it, if not outright better with Gritsyuk also swapped in for one of Wood, Bastian or Foote.
Anyway, I don't see any point in trading for Meier.

Also, think you're about 2m short on SIegenthaler, and I cannot see Blackwood signing that far below his 4.125m QO.

I like this roster though, would be a fun team to watch.
