Add Liljegren than the Sabres would accept.

Sabres are also taking on a horrible goalie with term.

Why is Liljegren making 2 mil more than Sandin? Better off buying out Mrazek. I just can't see any team taking him without a big sweetener attached.

This team isn't much different than the one who was just eliminated in the first round. It's like you're just moving deck chairs around on the Titanic.

Mrazek has negative value, meaning you'd move back, not forward...The consensus is that the Leafs will either buy him out, or that it'll likely take a 2nd to dump him. The whole "proven himself in many other franchises" would be slightly realistic if he hadn't been a below league average goaltender in 4 of the past 6 seasons. Season 1 of above average goaltending was 18/19, where he played 40 games, and season 2 was 20-21, where he played 12 games. The sample size of "Bad" between 2016-2022 is far greater than that of "Good".

Wayne Simmonds IS home. That's why he's taken back to back "discounts".

Mrazek is negative value. You usually need to add positive value to move up in the draft.

So Seattle should move DOWN in the draft to add a quality 6/7 d-man? That's your thinking?? I like how Leaf players are trash while with Toronto, but they are "quality" players when ACGM's suggest them in trade!! LMAO. Seattle has no interest in a 6/7 d-man for 2 million for 1 season at the cost of a better draft position. We'll spend 750,000 to 950,000 on that player (and possibly a better one) with our ample cap space this summer. Thanks though.

I think if you add a 2022 2nd and possibly a 2023 4th/5th or 2024 mid round pick to the Buffalo deal it would make more sense. Mrazek definitely has negative value. That being said they also project to have a team cap hit of $40 million when the floor is likely going to be around $61 million. Buffalo's going to need to get above that floor, and taking Mrazek would get them closer, its just the price needs to be right. And I don't know why people are complaining about the term of his contract. It has 2 seasons left at a $3.8 million cap hit. If he plays even average next season, that's an easily moveable contract the following offseason.

Maybe if you just packaged Toronto's 1st with Mrazek, Buffalo would take it for future considerations. To get a 1st back, AND it's higher? You don't seem to know what Mrazek's value is

You're moving Mrazek at possibly his absolute lowest value - he's really only succeeded in the past 6 years when playing in front of a strong defensive Carolina team. Combined with his injury history and his back-loaded contract, there's enough negative value that Toronto needs to add an asset to move him. I could see it being just adding a 3rd and sending him to Buffalo for future considerations, but his value isn't strong enough to make up the difference between #16 & #25.

Holl also probably just gets traded straight up for a 4th from a team that misses out on their UFA targets. He's affordable at $2M but being a pending UFA doesn't hold a lot of value for a team like Seattle that is more interested in prospects and picks to build up their organization.

I think the signings are fine - I think you split the difference with Sandin & Liljegren (bridge them both at $2.25M instead of the disparity here) and maybe you can go a little less aggressive on Campbell's extension, but mostly it's fine.

Mrazek has negative value, so why would the sabres trade down to get a goalie who cant play and pay him 3.8
