LA Kings

Created by: TheMooterus
Team: 2022-23 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: May 31, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would be the individual cost of the following 5 RD. I'm sure some are far more valuable than others, but each would fill a significant organizational need for Dallas & I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas and LA hit some negotiations this offseason regarding either an NHL ready RD or a soon-to-be-ready RD (neither of which Dallas really has in their organization currently).

Spence and Durzi very unlikely for sale this season unless it facilitated Chychrun.

Faber doesn't seem like they are interested in moving at all, the Kings love stay-at-home defenders and he's their best prospect stay-at-home.

Blake made it seem that Walker is going to play for us next season.

That leaves Grans who had a great season, I've seen trades of Ryan Johnson (OTT) straight up.

I think the Kings are in no rush to move their RDs but it will start happening once these guys prove they are ready for NHL minutes.

That will be interesting if you get some down to earth proposals.

My guess is that Nill will shoot for an NHL ready RD more than a RD that needs some maturation. This because he will need to fill the spot of Klingberg right away and avoid any type of discussion regarding the stage of the team situation. In other words and in his mind, Dallas is nowhere near a reset or rebuilding phase.

The only ones I feel comfortable giving a price are these:

Faber -- Completely off the table.
Walker -- Probably a 2nd round pick.

The other three are still relatively raw and developing so it's hard to put a price on them. Durzi probably has the most value at this exact moment. My first guess would just be a 1st round pick (which feels high) or a 2nd+prospect (which feels low). But I don't think the Kings are looking for prospects unless it's a can't-miss type.

In the end, I feel the Kings are better suited using Grans/Spence/Durzi as a piece in a package for a current top-6 winger or Chychrun.

A fine comment except that Brock Faber's teammate Ryan Johnson is in the Buffalo system, you nimrod.

The best way for me to answer this inquiry is to say that the two guys on your roster in whom we'd be interested are Ty Dellandrea (to play RW) and Thomas Harley. I can see us moving Grans or Spence for one of them if the value is right, but I don't know your players that well so I won't hazard a guess at a comparable trade.

Guri’s QO will be $3mil. I feel like if he isn’t taking 1st or 2nd line minutes then we might move him for Klingbergs replacement. Rumors are out there about Rasmus Sandin. Maybe a deal could be made.

LA supposedly wants a Dman with size. I wonder if they make a move in that direction.

I feel like Dellandrea and Johnston make the team. Ty with Benn. Wyatt on the fourth line.

If Stars do something like a pick for Holl, then Guri and Johnston could be something interesting.

I’m all over the place.

I don't think we move Harley but we might use Dellandrea to go fetch a young RD for sure. Dallas has a lot of young prospect that can play center.
