Description

Canes add toughness with Manson, Deslauriers, and Rutta.
Canes add guys that perform in the playoffs as well.
Canes keep cap space in case they need a goalie at the deadline or other big piece.

no we arent acquiring Miller or Schiefele. No we arent trading Pesce, Morrow, or Drury at this point.

Not sure why we're selling Necas for so little. I get moving on from him and trying to improve the back-end but if you're moving Necas & Skjei, I'd target Chych instead from the assets we could get from those guys and put it into a bigger package for him. Don't disagree with the rest though. I'd probably re-sign TDA if we can get a decent short-term deal for him too.

Dunn will cost less and more importantly has control when his deal is up. Chychrun looked good for two shortened seasons but has looked mediocre outside of that. It is quite the gamble to pay Necas +++ for a guy who is just as likely to be worse than Skjei as be a #1 LD. Also, Chychrun cant stay healthy.

Gardiner for Dadanov is good value for the Hurricanes. They get something for a LTIR contract and keep contract flexibility for the future.

I dont mind the Necas for Dunn deal. We could get an add on in the deal but I wasnt going to bother with it.
