I think players like Nemeth are really difficult to trade. He has a 8 team no trade team list, and if he wants to stay a Ranger, he can just list 8 teams with cap so he doesn't get traded to those lousy teams.
So many teams are close to the cap...they don't want his 2.5m cap hit either.

I would think they have to at least try to resign Vatrano and Motte both are built for the playoffs and have proven their worth so far.

Kravy is gonna replace Vatrano as a LH RW with wheels. I definitely expect him to come back. I don't get the Nemeth deal. We'll probably either buy him out or trade him. We don't have much room for another roster player in return. Donato will get ice time somewhere

Realistically it’s the 7 Canadian teams and ARZ.

Don't know why you would say 7 Canadian team. Certainly Leafs, Oilers, Flames, Canucks even Winnipeg have the need/want for 2.5m Nemeth. I don't know why they would be on his list.

It’s a list of 8 teams he doesn’t want to go to, not a list of 8 teams that don’t need him. It’s a question of where he would want to live

Why would not want to live in Toronto or Ottawa rather than Seattle? Heck even Vancouver has the same travel schedule as Seattle...and the Canucks are a better team.

Kravstov already had a 2nd chance and he bolted to Russia anyway. You really think Drury is the kind of guy that gives someone a 3rd chance? He will be traded in the off-season OR left to rot in the KHL.

Many-most players don’t want to play in Canada. This is very common and not new. I’m not saying this is for sure the case, simply what I would guess. Many things are to be factored in.. it’s not always as simple as which team is better. Maybe it’s where they’re likely to have a stable home, taxes/take home pay, weather and lifestyle. Could very well be the bottom 8 teams. I’m guessing if he ever wants to get a raise he might want to go somewhere with more open cap for the future or lower taxes.

Nemeth might be somewhat “accommodating” if he is told he will NEVER see any ice time…so maybe that would open some options for a new beginning somewhere else. NYR have plenty of assets they can move to get another team to take him…if the cost is too exhorbitant, a buy out is possible- as a worst case scenario
