Don't know what Simek's price is but I imagine we'd have to pay a team to take his contract.
    ARI
    1. Simek, Radim
    2. 2022 5th round pick (SJS)
    2.
    SJS
    1. Askarov, Yaroslav
    2. Fabbro, Dante
    Additional Details:
Fabbro gets a change of scenery, Sharks get their goalie of the future.
    NSH
    1. Barabanov, Alexander
    2. Burns, Brent ($2,000,000 retained)
    3. Kähkönen, Kaapo
    4. 2023 2nd round pick (SJS)
    Additional Details:
With Saros proving himself, the preds could trade Askarov for upgrades around the roster. I feel like Burns would fit right in with the Preds, they get a reliable backup in Kahkonen, a top 9 piece in Barabanov, and a high 2nd.

I can’t see why Nashville does this but I would love it as a Sharks fan.

I wouldn't trade Fabbro for Burns in a one-for-one, even with the $2M retention. While Burns had a productive season, his age and cap hit makes it a non-starter. NSH is pretty happy with Fabbro - he doesn't need a change of scenery.

And obviously NSH doesn't trade Askarov for a 2nd and some scraps.

Predators decline respectfully and point to Connor Ingram when you try to bring up Kahkonen

Sounds like you have a log jam there even without Kahkonen

It most definitely is. as much as I love Ingram and his story, I'd rather trade him than Askarov. Maybe my opinion will change in the future, but since we aren't at the competitive level that we need to be and probably won't be for much of Saros' golden years. I would like to hang on to Asky.

I wouldn't call Barabanov and Kahkonen scraps, but I respect the criticism otherwise.

In the context of being traded for NSH's top prospect, yeah. Ingram and Trenin are solid young pieces, but if I were to offer them and a 2nd for Hertl, they'd justifiably be considered scraps too in that proposal.
