This Kaako scratch situation seems like the KK situation last playoffs.
I dont think he'll wanna stay with the rangers.

And they already had the Kravstov issue to deal with

Not a good look for NYR rn if he does want out come this offseason

Not that it necessarily would've changed the outcome, but man did Gallant really whiff not pulling the goalie with sustained ozone possession with like 2 and a half minutes left. Was shocked that he didn't and Tampa then proceeds to just put on an absolute clinic for the next minute and change, not allowing the Rangers to get Shesterkin out until nearly the one minute mark.

The only way I see Rangers getting out of this hole is if they can acquire a cheap 2C like Sam Bennett. They’d have to overpay tho .

I think they’re gonna keep Copp for 2C. Probably let Strome walk.

I don’t think that’s enough to get them anywhere. If Copp regresses and plays like a 3 mill player instead of 5.5 mill player and Kakko is still meh , this team is going Nowhere fast

I feel they should move on from both and trade for Scheifele or a 2c upgrade.

As you got to think management might get aggressive this offseason

Nils Lundkvist has no room to play, time to trade him with either Kravtsov or Kakko in a package for a top 6 F

I mean, unless Kuemper recovers from his eye injury in time for the final, Colorado would need to sweep the Lightning for Arizona to get that extra pick. Looks like it’s probably gonna be Francouz though, you shouldn’t f*ck around with eye injuries and it was very clearly affecting his play in the games he did play in.

Just send all 3 and a 1st and WPG sends Scheiefle and a 3rd or something like the Eichel trade

Where Eichel went with a 3rd and Buffalo got Tuch, Krebs and picks

But Kuemper says hes fine though and is ready for the finals

But with the way Franky played maybe hes the starter

Who knows

I agree, I just think that’s what they’re gonna do lol

It’s a possibility, but I’m not sure they go that far. Winnipeg would probably demand some prospects they don’t want to move.

Honestly I would look at the following

WPG sends Scheifele + 2022 3rd

NYR send 2023 1st + Kravstov + Kakko + Lundqvist or something like that

Cause as we saw NYR could use another top 6 C and Scheifele is apparently unhappy so it seems like a good idea

I’m not subscribing to the Denver Post lol. I wonder if he’s even the guy if he is healthy though, his save percentage wasn’t great despite the ability to stad-pad against the Preds and Francouz has won 4 straight, including a shutout. They might roll Francouz to start, with Kuemper primed in case he falters, give his eyes the max time to heal. Also that said Kadri wasn’t ruled out, but I thought he already had surgery and was ruled out for like 6 weeks or something?

Could see WPG retain a mill but I did the math they can take that entire deal if they buyout Nemeth

Sad that it ended the way it did, but what a season for the Rangers. There's always next year!

I obviously can’t see into the future but for me the NYR are just gearing up for a long run. With:
Othmann
Cuylle
Jones
Robertson
Korczak
Berard
Kravtsov (possible trade chip)
Lundkvist (possible trade chip)

Young guns contributing now:
Miller
Chytil
Kakko (possible trade chip)
Lafreniere
Schneider

With a core of:
Shesterkin
Fox
Panarin
Zibanejad
Kreider
Trouba
Goodrow
Lindgren

I love the makeup of this team. Will need to mange the cap going forward but what contending team doesn’t

I’m biased but what are the chances they make it this far next year
They need to replicate a 30 YO scoring 50+ goals and a goalie with a hart worthy season
All this with losing a top 6 forward in FA

In all seriousness they might not make it next year

As NYI missing was basically the door being opened to them along with Shesterkin going god mode but you got to think his back is gonna give out any day now. As he carried them in

Now im not saying 100% NYR misses but that division is no cake walk with the Islanders, Penguins, Caps, and Hurricanes roaming around

Devils will win the Cup before the Rangers. And I'm not even saying the Devils win the Cup in the next 5 years. Rangers were a borderline Cinderella team this year and will never progress without massively improved contributions from ELC players. As mentioned above, everything went right this season/postseason: Igor, Kreider, Sid injured, 3rd string G in PIT, Raanta, etc...and they were still only half way there. Teams that cannot develop young, homegrown talent do not win the Cup.
