I've read from some NSH fans that they are dying to get rid of Myers. If that is true, there's something wrong with him and should not be in a package that acquires Nylander.

Not a Leafs fan, but it's definitely not the price for him, regardless of what a certain group of fans that don't like nice things on their own team would have you think...

-Myers was waived last year and went unclaimed. His actual $'s owed this year is $3.8 mil, which makes him even less attractive as an asset. Odds are he gets bought out, or swapped for an equally bad deal.
-Tolvanen is now 23 and has seen little to no success at the NHL level.
-3rd=meh.
-Nylander=point per game player.

IMO, you're looking at a 1st round pick and a very good young asset as a starting point, with some other stuff tossed in.

He's just not particularly good. I know the Leafs had him on the Marlies roster to finish the year, which might signal that he's heading there at some point anyway, but if you don't like Holl, you're gonna hate Myers tears of joy

He could certainly be a salary exchange part of a Nylander deal, but he's a 7/8D.

We are trying to get rid of him but that's more because he doesn't mesh with out system rather than him being a total bust. I say he just needs more development. He's 25 so not too old and he would provide much needed cap space and defensive depth. Though IDK if you guys are struggling with that so I may be wrong

Good feedback thanks for laying it out like that! I'm always hesitant to throw draft picks on there because to be perfectly honest I really don't know their worth.

- I think Meyers could fit in Toronto. He's not the best player but he definitely adds depth and I do think that his play for the Marlies is indicative of something.

-Tolvanen, I don't think he's a bust at the NHL but rather he didn't find a good fit in NSH and needs a change of scenery to bring him to life.

What do you mean he doesn't mesh well with your system? NSH would be the second team he didn't fit in with, wouldn't be smart to move Nylander and have him be one of only two pieces coming back. Tolvanen won't make up for that.

TOR has enough depth defenders at the moment, potentially trying to move one to create a little cap space.

That is a fair assessment of him. I think Lenny is right and he probably gets bought out or traded as cap relief for another team. not that his $3.8Mil is much of a relief

I wouldn't say Preds fans are dying to get rid of him, but it is obvious he doesn't have a place with the team. Worst case scenario, NSH parks him in the AHL for his remaining year. Interestingly, a buy out of Myers results in a cap surplus next season of a little over $600K. That could be useful to a cap strapped team, but I still wouldn't expect much in a trade return for him.

Despite the hundreds of Nylander proposals TOR fans post every day, they aren't moving him this cheaply. I think it would be something more like a 1st, a better young player than Tolvanen, and likely a third piece.

I'd guess that Forsberg is probably looking for around $9M, and the RFAs are all going to cost more than this. $3M seems like much too much for Cole.

I think Fil is probably looking for more too but I think it's EvolvingHockey that has him at 8.5x8. I think it may be more 9x8 but who knows.

Lauzon I think is the right price, but I concede that Trenin and Glass might cost more.

I overpaid on Cole mainly to make sure that he wouldn't accept another offer. IT would all come down to negotiation.

What do you think about 2023 1st, Tolvanen, and L'Heureux?

Personally, I don't have interest in Cole - even at half that price. He's already 33, slowing down, and NSH doesn't need another left shot defenseman.

If Nylander is on the block, I think TOR would take that. Would NSH offer it though? An unprotected 1st in a deep draft when NSH isn't necessarily going to be a playoff team, and a player who NSH just traded up to draft are both difficult pieces to part with. Nylander is very skilled, but I'm not sure he'd be a good fit under Hynes.
