So they acquired oel and granlund for a 2nd and a 3rd? if that is the case granlund and dubois numbers are more comparable than dubois and eichel so i guess the deal can start with a 2nd rounder

Your "logic" is kind of like: my friend once got a pizza for $10, so that means I can get a Ferrari for a banana.

Your logic is kind of like: my friend got a pep pizza from AZ for 10 bucks. The pizza i want to sell him has pep AND a smidge of tomatoes, so that means i get to charge 1.5 million on the open market

While the Jets would presently accept NEITHER trade offer for PLD---the one you propose, NOR the return you got for Eichel---before declining, the Jets would take an extra few minutes looking at an offer of Tuch, Krebs, a 1st Round and a 2nd Round Pick . . . as the other offer is less satisfactory at meeting our needs and wants as a franchise. So . . . the "dubois package is NOT better than eichel." Not to us.

This should make you feel good, though . . . it shows that the deal you got for your one-time franchise savior is the better one. You did well there. Good job.

While appreciated that you feel we are overvaluing our asset and should accept such a trade(s), we feel PLD is a key to our group and want to continue "overvaluing" him as a member of our team unless his performance wanes considerably, or it ACTUALLY appears clear he is not a part of out long-term future. IF the time comes to trade him, Cheveldayoff (despite our criticisms) has done pretty well in trades for our top assets (see Kane, Trouba, Copp). Now is not that time, though. Right now, bring us a coach!!!!

I did not realize you had an ear within the organization. I hope trotz goes to winnipeg and you guys turn it around. I think it may start by getting rid of wheeler if anyone wants him

@Sabresguy1987

Chill out, for Jets fans on this site even for an okay player it's at least you're first and you're superstar. Maybe you're two best young players.

Other than I haven't made any comparisons, so what you're saying makes no sense.

You're the one trying to take parts of two different trades that aren't similar to the PLD situation in any way and trying to twist them so they somehow support your flimsy narrative.

All I'm telling you, is that your offer gives Winnipeg nothing they need, so they turn it down. I haven't compared trading PLD to anything.

And you do?? From reading, you are assuming a number of things same as the rest of us. That's why we come here, though, to pretend we know something and call the shots in our imaginary ways!! Supposed to be fun!!

Anyhow, yes, I think Trotz would be great . . . Need some of his defensive responsibility and accountability. Wheeler is a hard trade to make, though. Jets likely stuck with him. Peace

Im backing up the narrative with two recent trades to back up the value of what I perceive PLD to have. One the eichel trade in which he is worth no where near a superstar who is locked up to term, and two just last year where the 9th overall pick was traded for a package far greater than pld seeing as it allowed van to shed 10 mil in cap and get back a comparable player like garland and oel who although overpaid is still not a cap dump. I think the best comparison tho is reinhart and dubois. Reinhart was traded for the 28th overall pick in this years draft (which is in the deal above) and devon levi who was the second best goalie prospect in floridas system. If he decides to sign long term for the jets then for sure his value increases but if not I hate to tell you but this offer comes off the table immediately.

We agree there and that's what everyone has been telling you. The Jets would say to take this offer off the table as it does nothing for Winnipeg and wouldn't be considered.

I give up, nothing I can say to you for you to understand the logic behind the trade.

I understand. It is very hard to rationally defend a bad offer like you are trying to do and provide a logical reason for the opposing team to accept it. But you can't say you weren't given enough chances.

You do realize olofsson alone is more productive than tuch... and you get a top 10 pick, another first, a top 10 goalie prospect and mitts. Dubois isnt gretzky man

that is false tuch is way way way better defensively, olofsson is a black hole defensively he also provides no physicality with his tiny little stature. tuch is big and physical and faster. Overall Tuch is much better and on a great contract. Also tuch averaged a higher PPG so i don't what you are talking about that olofsson is more productive

Exactly why I specified "productive" meaning points and I watched every sabres game, olofsson put up 20 goals while being hurt for roughly a 45 game stretch and not scoring in 30 games straight. That is also why the package surrounding olofsson is much greater than the package that surrounded tuch. The 1st rounder from vegas was anticipated to be 32 overall. as I have said, you can keep what is clearly the equivalent to god in winnipeg that is PLD.

im a bruins fan lol. but dubois is a young 1C that has a solid all around game, i wouldn't give up more then a 2nd + B level prospect for olofsson. Also tuch was freshly off an injury aswell so that part is completely irrelevant for olofsson. i can almost guarantee you 99.9% of the league would choose tuch over olofsson

any trade surrounding dubois would have to involve one of krebs or cozens. winnipeg doesn't need more wingers or a goalie as hellebuyck is still relatively young. it would have to be based around a good RHD or C propsect or young player+. granted buffalo doesn't have any stellar RHD prospects they would need to give probably cozens+olofsson+ one of the later 1st's
