I love Weegar, I even consider him a top 10 d man, but again, rental. Would rather hold onto Sandin so then we can be a longer term contender; I think Sandin has top 15 d man potential, but over the long run vs the one year rental.

Wings are not trading young players for older worse players. Wings are in a rebuild and are trying to get better. Not one of those deals is good or even ok for Wings, they are horrible. Please tell me why Wings makes this deal. Oh oh oh, I have been told on this site Ned is not good and about the same as Mrazek. Well the SOB could have been gad for nothing when he was waived and Wings could have because e GH wy had cap room. The reason they didn't is he sucks, too much money, too much term and not able to stay healthy and when healthy he can not stop the puck.

Honestly the trade has very little to do with Mrazek, its more about acquiring Knies who is young and would fit the Red wings compete window, if the Wings don't extend Ned he could simply walk after this year and they wouldnt get any assets for him. So yeah Mrazek is pretty rough, but its more about getting Knies in a couple of years.
