not likely but hey

Description
This isn't likely to happen and it would take certain things to fall into the jets favor but its interesting to think about.

Trade 1: This happens if Tony D prices himself out of Carolina. Canes aren't going to pay Tony D 7mil a season and will need a guy to run there PP. Pionk has a history of being good on the PP and while he has been a little up and down at 5vs5 playing with Slavin will like even his game out. Jets also take a cap dump for a 1st and good prospect.

Trade 2&3: This is a 3-way trade sending wheeler to the wild if they can't afford and have to trade Fiala. Wheeler's cap hit would end up a 3.5mil the next 2 season. For a vet that put up 60 points he's an ok stop gap. Not as good as Fiala but much cheaper.

Trade 4: Florida opens up some cap space for a good young dmen prospect and a 2nd pick.

Trade 5: Sounds like Hawks might not want Strome.

None of the trades make much sense for the Jets other than the Chicago one.

Drury would be great, but Carolina won't move him and the Jets can't afford to downgrade from Pionk to Gardiner.

If the Jets are retaining that much on Wheeler,it's pointless if they're getting nothing in return.

Samberg shouldn't be in play for one year of Weegar.

Couple of things... The Jets have legit a 2yr window... That's it. 2yrs to be good enough to win so yes you move Samberg for weegar. Weegar would become our best dmen. Second you aren't trading pionk to play Gardiner he's a cap throw away for the first and Drury. The cap space allows you to trade for weegar who is much better than Pionk. Plus if trotz is the coach... Pionk is not a Trotz type dmen at all.

You are seriously, seriously overrating Weegar.

Well Minny over they next 2-3 yrs can't afford good younger players unless they are on ELCs. What they can afford is older players like wheeler at 3.5mil and hope he can still put up 50-60 points (he put up 60 points in under 70 games) This is what happens when you have big buy outs on your cap... So if they want to compete this is their path. If not wait a couple years and try again when your cap isn't a mess.

Minnesota has Adam Beckman whose ready. And other young Wingers. A bunch of Wingers are also free agent this offseason along with who they get in fiala trade. . Minnesota still say no

Florida won't do that deal. Your proposal for him is bad

I think you are seriously overrating Samberg... seems like just a random prospect

Agreed. MN has no need for an aging winger. If he was a C it’d be a different story. This just doesn’t make sense from a MN standpoint.

With top 4 potential. Weegar is good, but Winnipeg can't give up all that team control for one year of a player.

Apparently he said the hawks might not qualify strome so now every Capfriendly team that includes a trade with the hawks is just their team getting strome for free or for crazy cheap.
