JVR for Poolman is an interesting idea. I'd rather wait out the one year on JVR though

FOR THE LAST TIME TOR IS NOT TRADING KNIES AND LILJEGREN. KEEP DREAMING.

and you represent toronto as a whole? the rumor is that they are not going to shy away from a splash move. what the fans on this website say and what management does are often two different things. as much as the fans may not want something, that doesn't mean that they know who is tradeable and who isnt.

No team (the Leafs in this post) aren't giving up so much for a rental.

That is something that drives me nuts on here. A lot of fans look at it from the point of what they want to see happen rather than what the GM might actually do. A great example of this is trades involving Philly. Most fans want to see a rebuild so the balk at offers involving Miller (or other high end talent). I totally get that fans believe Philly should rebuild but every indication from management and ownership says that they are going to try to be competitive again next season. On top of that a lot of fans don't look at it from the point of GM job security. GM's make win now moves when they feel the pressure that they will be fired if they don't get results. Jim Benning is a perfect example of this. He had a pressure point when he acquired JT Miller, that paid off for him and he got a contract extension. He felt another pressure point last summer and made the OEL deal knowing they had to make playoffs this year to keep his job. It's ****ty as a fan to see stuff like that but it's reality that GMs don't always do what's in the best interest of the team long term.

EDIT: this is also the base of an offer that an annonoymous league executive suggested it would take to get Miller. With the Rangers specifically he said it would likely take Schneider + Chytil + 1st + 2nd. As a result that is the most accurate suggestion to follow. I personally don't think they would get that additional 2nd but young roster player + top prospect + 1st is totally reasonable.

My original offer was Robertson in place of Knies but I got many comment saying it wasn't enough for Miller so I changed it.

robertson is probably more valuable to vancovuer than knies. 99% of comments on this website are valueless "nopes" or false insight. real trades are rarely dead even to where both sides are content, especially large scale deals, so regardless of what you change it wont be received well.

Thanks. Why do you think Robertson would be more valuable to Vancouver then Knies?

I do, but I also legitimately don't believe Robertson will be moved. Knies seems like a more logical trade chip.
