No reason for Lehkonen to accept this offer
Trockeck decline as well, he'll aim for 6M+ with 7 years terms

He kinda does if he wants to come back to habs after trying a couple years for the cup, in a couple years i suspect that habs might push for the playoffs. By that time Lehkonen will be a bit past his prime but still useful as a playoff vet. but tbh it feels like he might go for 4x4mil.

Maybe playing on the best team in the west, potentially with Mackinnon and rantanen, and potentially coming off of a cup win would give Lehkonen a reason to sign???

And I think Trochek is going to have a hard time getting 6 mil + for a second line centerman

Lehkonen will extend with COL, but he will ask for money and terms. At least 4 years and probably an AAV of 4M. IMO he signs around 3.5M-4M on a 4 years deal
For Trocheck, he can ask for that easily
TOP 6 C available :
Malkin 35 yo
Kadri 31 yo
Trockeck 28 yo
Strome 28 yo
Copp 27 yo

That's it. They could all get 5M+

That's actually a pretty good rate for an effective 2C but he'll definitely want more than 3 years. Biggest issue with him is his size - all other things being equal, if the Avs were to go the route of trying to replace Naz via FA, I'd rather they sign Copp; he's bigger, a little younger and produces about the same as Trocheck.

Yeah, I don't see Sakic only giving him 2 years, especially after seeing what he can do in the playoffs. 4-5 years sounds about right at the AAV you mention, $3.5-4M. This was a very smart pickup by Sakic.

Now y'all understand why some of us valued Lehkonen so much while other fans around the league were saying he's only a 3rd liner
Lehkonen is more than regular Goals Assists Points. Every points he gets are bonuses from his tremedous forecheck

Well, there's always apprehension when acquiring a new guy, especially at the deadline; you just don't know how they're going to fit in and it frequently does not work out. This case is an exception in the best of ways.

Lehkonen would fit on any team IMO
He can play on every line
