Penguins should move on from Blueger

Description
I like Blueger a lot, but he will want a contract similar to Carter next offseason, so I'd be open to moving him to a team that wants a defensive 3C who has shown some offense the last two years. What teams would be interested?

This would allow the Pens to get someone like Nick Paul, moving Carter to 4C. He said playing a full season was tough, so limiting his minutes would be best for the Pens.

Paul can probably get that deal from Tampa. Carter is your 3C and thats almost a lock.

What would Paul have to get to be out of TBL? 4+?

and Carter being 4C would be great during playoff time

Flames pass, I would consider a 1 for 1 but he's a rental and more expensive so kinda annoying. Calgary needs to move cap out not take on more

I did CGY side of trade. Hed be signed to extension and would solidify Flames 3C

Flames dont need a 3C, they need a 2C (hopefully Monahan rebounds like Tarasenko). Backlund is the 3C but was forced to move up this season due to injuries

I wonder if moving out Monahan and signing Trocheck would be best?

That's definitely true and unfortunate. I'd rather run Blueger as 3C and scale back Carter's minutes. Dude skates in mud around game 55-60. Guy was buried in his own end.
Blueger can play with talent, give him a shot at 3C.

I would think 4+. If they dont sign Palat I believe that money up to 4 mil will go to Paul.

I would personally move Killorn out and keep Palat

Easier said then done. Killorn has trade protection and Palat would cost more.

I personally would not move Bluger, but that being said I don't think anyone besides Crosby and Guentzel should be safe

Take out the 5th and switch the 2nd to a 3rd and Detroit accepts.
