Rangers decline. $10.5M cap hit is too much and even at half retained, we need that money for a center.

bruins obviously decline, why would they trade their best prospect for a guy who is A. coming off a bad year and B. might not even be qualified

Why in the world would Chicago do that Arizona trade as it makes zero sense for a team not against the cap, not to mention Toews at 1/2 retained should garner interest from teams for assets back. Further, there is not a chance in the world Toews agrees to waive for AZ.

Would need to retain on the Kane deal so NYR can sign a 2C but Im not super into this, Kappos production has stalled hard.
Why would Hawks do this? Toews still provides positives to the team, Ladd is a fourth liner.
No shot Bruins do that trade.
50/50 on Vilardi trade.
Jones isnt worth a third.
Beaudin is worth more than a fifth, hes at least used in a prospect swap or for another roster player.

Easy PASS for the Rangers. Not trading any young player for a 1 year rental of Kane or anyone else.

Los Angeles declines. Strome is a left-handed center or wing; we're full up at both. Meanwhile, Vilardi can play RW (where we played him the last quarter of the season) and he's younger and a lot cheaper than Strome would be, leaving us room to acquire a LD that Strome's cap hit would preclude.

Disagree with you. Highly doubt you may get any assets for Toews even with retained salary. Who'd like to land a declining star for his last season in career. Only Arizona guarantees a roster spot for this type of veterans, here he can reach even 20 mins per game if staying healthy.

Can't you Rangers just shed your salary cap by trading some player? Or could we close this trade at the trade deadline?

Hi, Kubalik is a scorer, don't you need +20 goals next season? He could play the same line as Pastrnak, his countryman. That gives you 2 productive forward lines. Hall+Haula+Pastrnak simply didn't work well.

Not true. There are teams that would want him as a 3C easily and given his leadership skills would highly value that in the playoffs. Toews still is one of the best at the dot, and still is an awesome defender. Teams take on veterans with experience in the playoffs as one year rentals all the time for a playoff run...this is common practice. Even still, why in the world would Chicago want to move him for nothing then? Chicago isn't against the cap so his cap hit is of no concern this year. Lastly, there is not a chance in a million years Toews agrees to go play in Arizona and that is where the buck stops from this even being worth proposing in your AGM.

That line actually worked very well until Pastrnak got hurt. Where is Hall playing? He's not replacing Marchand on L1 lol

Honestly, the worst trade proposal I've seen for Lysell. And there have been an abundance of awful deals.

I think the Kane to Rangers deal has passed.
