Let Engvall and Kase walk

Created by: GarthBrooks
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 3, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
You could trade their rights but iunno what their values are and they’ve got arbitration rights so Iunno if teams wanna do that esp after Engvalls strong season. Maybe mid round picks for each

Strome deal modeled after the Drouin Sergachev deal
Gibson deal modeled after the Kessel trade

Young guys get spots. No real checking line more of a hybrid scoring line with a checking center. 4th lines not great but it looks like an actual 4th line vs last years

2nd line gets a skilled responsible center who’s production may be higher next to Tavares and Nylander

Goaltender for the future confirmed. Knies could be amazing but if Bunting, Strome and Robertson are the LWs for the future then we can afford to move him

Muzzin has a M-NTC next season so bounce him then to make up Buntings extension. The year after letting a lot of guys walk to attempt to extend Matthews and Nylander. Year 3 Tavares is a FA heavy discount him or let him walk, Marner’s extension. Defense gonna look real different without Brodie, Muzzin, etc.

I mean I would definitely take that deal for Strome, not sure about Dubas offering it, however.

I don’t see them moving Knies until after next season and only if he still decides not to turn pro. But if he does sign i think they’d move Robertson over him.

I think Davidson would take that deal for Strome because media is saying he’s looking to move on but personally I’m in the “keep him” camp.

If Anaheim decides to move Gibson, they can get a much better deal than this one.

CHI accepts. One could argue that TOR could probably even swap out that 2nd with something of lesser value to get a deal for Strome done.

Mrazek costs you the third, so this trade is Sandin and the first (#25) for Gibson and the second (#42). If Gibson is worth that little, why do you want five years of him?
