Not even close for Alexis Lafreniere.

And Florida can't afford Jeff Petry @ $6,250,000 x 3 years they will be in a cap crunch and need to resign Jonathan Huberdeau.

Laf is worth a 2nd round pick, maybe a late first (25-32).

Congrats on one of the worst takes I've seen on this website in 5 years of using it! Kid's been dominating the playoffs as the current youngest player in it.

There’s no incentive to consider this trade. Plus he’s been fantastic so unless an overpay, we’re good keeping Laf.

rofl, lets see, Caufield 23 goals 20 A for 43 points in 67 games for .64ppg or 53 points over 82 games playing on the worst team in the NHL bar far, Laf 19 goals and 12 Assist for 31 points in 79 games for .32ppg or 32 points over 82 games playing on a top team...ya Laf is not worth close to Caufield or 1st OA, just because he was a first OA does not mean he is worth a kings ransom.

just because he was a 1st OA does not mean he is worth a kings ransom in a trade, he has put up only 3rd line player points , he is out-produced by most players taken ahead of him that have played at least 40+ NHL games (most in the 60 games played range, Stutzle,Raymond, Mercer,Lundel, Jarvis), he has the same PPG as Drysdale...a Defensive Dman taken by ANA in the same draft...

The kid is 20, everyone develops differently and he isn't as one dimensional player. I do agree that other players are looking better than him from the same draft but to say he's worth that little is just silly.

You do realize Arizona only agrees to serve as dumping ground for other teams when those teams attach shiny things like picks and prospects to their cast-offs, right?! Pretty sure Arizona isn't giving the Habs one their most coveted assets for the privilege of helping Montreal out! There are better ways for them to reach the cap floor!

Gms don't trade major assets for players who have put up 3rd line points, potential is irrelevant , hell Yakupov who had similar numbers to Laf only got the Oilers a unknow prospect and a conditional 3rd.....Laf is not worth what NYR fans wish he was that is reality, Gms are not going to trade prime picks and prospects for a guy who only put up 3rd line player production in his 2 years in the NHL and bet on potential. Fans on this site over-value players way too much....

also players picked after him have done more on much worst teams with less supporting talents than him.
