adding better vets

Created by: Sabrebluehs
Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 5, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know KA has said he doesn't want to block the kids, but I feel they need to earn roster spots and create competition. Need a couple of good vets on one year deals and if the kids need more time to develop in the AHL then so be it.

Remove Kylington, and put Monahan at 2C. He's not a 4th line center when healthy lol

Yeah but will he get healthy? And nah, I wouldn’t trade mitts for Monahan straight up.

He wont be traded if he's not fit to play. Calgary would just put him on LTIR.

Lol Monahan even on 1 working hip is better than Mittelstadt, that would be a big blunder from Buffalo's part

That's being a little stuck in the past. Monahan has been on decline for 2 years. And now has had a major surgery. He is not worth Mitts straight up.

His "decline" is exactly the same as Tarasenko's "decline" the last 2 seasons, it was 100% directly caused by his injuries. The first surgery was very successful and now the 2nd one is coming along great. He is expected to be skating again this month.

You are way too hung up on the fact he got surgery and not that the surgery will likely fix the problem he was having

Not sure how that's relevant when they aren't Flames fans

So like 1 in every 10 posts is by a Flames fan and then 95% of those?

...what? Filter to Flames posts and you'll see the vast majority giving SM away for nothing, paying to do so, or waving a magic wand and putting him on LTIR. Not literally 95%, you caught me

Ok in the last 20 Flames ACGM's (at least the ones from users I can see) 6 were posted by Leafs fans, 3 were from Oilers fans, 1 from a Pens fan, 1 from a Jets fan, and 1 posts for every team. That leaves 8 Flames fan posts. Of them the Burns trade and Crosby trade ones can obviously be ignored, and 1 of them is a brand new account. So of the now remaining 5 only 2 of them clearly trade Monahan as a cap dump. One with a 4th attached, and the other with Valimaki and a 3rd for Mittelstadt.

Just because it's a Flames ACGM does not mean it is by a Flames fan

Idk man, I've heard all summer about surgeries with eichel and how it affects the return. So to think that and older lesser player in Monohan wouldn't be affected by that is well wrong.

Could he bounce back and be good yes. But im.not giving up good assets to see

Eichel got hos surgery after the trade though. Monahan already got his surgery. At this point he is either healthy and potentially traded, or unhealthy and on LTIR

But how long is he on LTIR. I can't see that he would be on it all year. So has Calgary cup window is coming to an end. They need to capitalize now, so moving on from a Mayne contributor with a heavy cap hit would be quite beneficial, but that will also cost Calgary to move
