impossible and down right outrageous - CALM DOWN

Created by: Fran615

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 5, 2022

Description
CALM DOWN.
I know it's impossible. Just having fun here.

One more time for the folks in the back: I'm delusional here. I'm having fun and just wanted to share a FANTASY. This is fantasy. Won't happen in a million years.

No need to throw insults or arrogance.

--- in my fantasy, Habs draft 2, 3, 5, 6 and 16 in the first round.
NONE of those players would be in the lineup for next season. ZERO. All continue their development.
Slafkovsky, Cooley and a top D and other scorer.

You're right as far as the Philly trade. Even though I'm going all out and imagining outrageous stuff, they don't have enough going back their way. I'll try to fix that

Glad you're having fun with it.
Lots of people take this a bit too seriously lol

I changed it a bit to add Riley Kidnney, 100 points in juniors at 18 years old. And Rem Pitlick, thought he had a great season at 22.

Arizona and New Jersey pass, And it's not even close.

Kris Letang wants $9,000,000 x 4 years, He stays in Pittsburgh for your offer.

Filip Forsberg will cost closer to $10,000,000 x 7 years, Reportedly he wants $9,000,000 x 8 years to remain in Nashville. So it's probably even more than $10,000,000 per.

Andrew Copp is looking for Zach Hyman money or $5,500,000 x 7 years give or take a little.

Thank you for setting me straight.
I did this for fun - as mentioned in the title AND description.
But thank you for stepping in and making sure that everything is perfectly rectified.

The real answer to my post would be "this is outrageous" to which I would have replied "I know right lol!"

Your fantasy includes paying Andrew Copp almost 8 mil next year? Lol

    Hahaha, I know.

The reasoning behind it (I know, I know, outrageous) is that Caufield will be up for a contract the following year. So it would be a one year window opening for huge salary.
Also, having picks 2, 3, 5, 6 and 16 would allow for some of those players to arrive slowly.

The 8 million is 100% based on salary cap space, and to drag a player out of their favorite long term deal.
Although awkward and out of touch, there is a logic behind it lol

Pretty easy no from NJ. They just don’t need those guys in the deal.
It’s tough for MTL to try and land 2OA, since the only thins that should interest NJ should also be untouchable in MTL

    Damn, you're right.
The NJ deal sucks. Very easy no.

It's just something that was fun to imagine, having picks 2, 3, 5, 6, and 16.
    3 forwards and 2 D.

Oh, and I had read somewhere that Devils GM said somewhere he was open to trading that pick cause they wanted assets for right now.

It’s definitely fun to imagine! Even in what’s perceived as a weaker draft, it would probably be huge for MTL. Plus that’s a fun part of these ACGMs that people forget a lot!

The asset level they want right now is guys like Cole Caufield or Nick Suzuki in NJ though. And those are guys should probably stick around in MTL lol

Couldn't agree more with you. No one is gettting graded here; it's fantasy.
You think next year's draft is better? Maybe some of the high first rounder could be for the following year.

But yes, you can't just get a super high draft pick without giving a super high profile asset...

No reason for Jackets to get Wright. They need defense, and he's not all that of a potential generational guy/ top 1C in the league for the future, he's just the most ready (like Laf, Hischier) Wright partly benefited from being 6'1 185 at 15 years old. This draft is just equivalently loaded of guys that will be solid top half of the lineup guys, but no one exceptional. He's getting comparisons to Bergeron, just not as good defensively. Not a smart risk for the Jackets if they have the chance to get Jiricek/Nemec, and a forward at 12, or vice versa

If I was Columbus GM, I would decline that trade as well lol
    I prefer 6 and 16 than 1 on this year's draft.
    Not 2023 though...
