I wouldn't do that anyway, it's like throwing **** at the wall and hoping it's enough to take Bob's cap hit

I wouldn't do that Fiala deal, way to much.

I like the ideas.

I'd want retention on Bob. They *can* add his contract and still afford another 7+ mill contract with term - even with all the RFAs in next 2 years - but it puts them up against the wall a bit in 2024.

Idk any of the other pieces in the Bob trade, so no comment besides above. That seems like a lot to give up for Fiala tho, but if Adams is pretty sure Johnson and Portillo won't sign here it'd feel a lot less painful

The Sabres dont need a bunch of mediocre prospects, if Florida is dumping Bobrovsky's cap a 1st and 2nd will get the convo started

Fiala for VGK 1st + Mitts is something I could see happening at the draft, if GMBG strikes out on some higher picks. Maybe there is more to it, but it just gets messy to try and figure out.

Johnson doesn't do anything for MN, the cupboard is full for LD prospects. Portillo is interesting, but I think he'll become a college grad FA.

Not to mention it does nothing for Minnesota. Mittelstadt can’t seem to put a full season together. Johnson makes no sense to go after with Lambos, O’Rourke, Hunt, Peart, etc all coming through the pipeline. Portillo to be the future backup to Wallstedt? Meh, not worth trading Fiala for him, a late 1st and a 2nd.
