The NJD deal seems like the most “fair value” deal. 😂

It’s hilarious to me that we went from Friedman saying the 5th overall pick could be in play for Fiala prior to the draft lottery, to now saying that Jesper Boqvist and a 2nd round pick is more than enough to get it done and that Guerin would be lucky to get that as a return.

Carolina deal is my favorite personally, though we might only be able to get a 2nd instead of a 1st (which I would still probably prefer over all of these). I'm not quite as high on Necas as I was last year, but I still think he can be a good 60-70 point player. I think the 2023 draft will be better than this year's so if we do end up getting that first, which will probably be a late one, it should be as good as the mid-teens picks in this year's draft.

I agree with you, only reason I think the 2023 1st could be in play along with Necas is because teams that are right on the cusp of being able to win a cup are usually more willing to send away valuable futures. Carolina is basically set for the next decade and the chances of a late 1st becoming a franchise player on a team that already has several is slim to none, especially for Carolina.

I think Necas is a bad idea for MN. He'll just end up in the doghouse and be the whipping boy for the fans.

I'm gonna preface this by saying I think Fiala's a good player and I'm not trying to knock him.

That said, I don't think he's worth the 2OA. I understand that "no leverage" argument, but no one is getting Fiala for pennies on the dollar.

If you can land Necas (especially with a pick attached), you take that. Necas is solid, though he had a rough go at it this season. Also believe he would fit nicely into the lineup.

The 7OA could also be interesting depending who's available, but the Wild are a good team and probably looking to add someone who can slot into the lineup rather than a prospect who'll only see the ice in a couple of seasons.

I don’t think Fiala is worth 2oa either, not even remotely close to fair value on NJs side but, you have to give to get. If Nj fans think that Jesper Boqvist and a 2nd round pick is fair value then they’re crazy. Any deal will involve some center piece and that center piece for NJ has to be one of Holtz, Sharangovich, or Mercer. I personally like the Necas deal best out of all of them right now because he can step into the lineup immediately.

The one where you and your 4 other NJ ACGM colleagues think that a 2nd round pick and a 4th line player is fair value for a 1st line winger.

Let me put it this way, it’s you and your 4 other buddies that think that’s fair value. Everyone else on this site thinks the conversation starts with a 1st and a good young player/prospect, and if you don’t trust the consensus opinions on this site then you can literally go read any other article on the internet, specifically some written by beat writers of NHL teams that all suggest that fair value for Fiala is a mid 1st round pick and a good prospect/young player.

The fact that you and 4 other people think your proposal is fair value compared to literally the rest of hockey society’s opinion on fair value is in my opinion, delusional.

If you can’t understand that then the fact that you think you think you’re right tells me everything I need to know about you.

He's not Fiala (or Granny). He doesn't play the "right way" for Evason. Russo needs a FWD to rake over the coals when thigs are going right for the team (like he did with Rask and Fiala). Necas will be easiest target because Kap/Zucc, GREEF, and Boldy are all known quantities. Any fall off in Boldy's production next year will be because of whoever replaces Fiala (unless it's Rossi). Hartman, Freddy G, and the 4th line are just filling space in the lineup for cheap.

That seems more like the fans problem than Necas’ problem. This was the same way it went with Fiala when we acquired him from Nash. A young 22/23 year old player with tons of potential who hasn’t even scraped their ceiling yet and then they get a new chance with a new team and take off.

If Necas were to end up in the doghouse and become the whipping boy for fans I think that says more about our coaching staff and our fans than it does about Necas.

No not at all, I think that what one Devils fan thinks on ACGM, your little squad of “10” NJ fans believe. I’ve seen hundreds of other NJ fans in comments of articles that clearly understand the fair value here. Not to mention that 98% of Ottawa, Isles, Kings, Ducks, and Canes fans also understand the fair value here. Maybe what I’m trying to say is that you’re in the 2% that thinks Fiala is worth a bag of potatoes but clearly you have yet to understand that’s the group you’re a part of.

And why are you targetting that at me? I've only made one Fiala trade which included a 2023 first.
And I could say the same about you. One of your trades was Gritsyuk and the 5th pick for Fiala which Devils would be terrible for the Devils. You're being hypocritical and salty.
