Because Hart has put up great numbers in the past, and has a longer track record of (relative) success in front of some pretty terrible teams.

It's not worth it. Your trade value is crazy - Puljujarvi had a lot of value and shouldn't be traded for a mediocre goalie living on his unearned reputation.

Where are these "great numbers" Hart has supposedly put up in the past? And where the terrible teams? In Hart's only positive season the Flyers were 5th in the entire league for xGA - they weren't a terrible team. The Flyers were 12th in xGA over the 3 seasons prior to this one (combined) but 25th in GA.

The evidence indicates that Hart is part of the problem in Philadelphia, not part of the solution. Up to this year their defense has been above average but their goaltending has been well below average.
