Would have to be a huge package to get him out of chicago, but apparently they are listening.

Leafs should pull the trigger on getting him, then sell high on him again at the end of the year when he is due for a big raise.

Don't think Toronto has the pieces to get debrincat. Anything they can offer would be beat by teams with better picks and prospects

Pass. As soon as Knies name comes up Dubas hangs up. He will be a top 6 forward hitting 50+ points and 20+ goals in about 2 years, maybe even better.

Muzzin isn't waiving for Chicago....that ends any DeBrincat discussion.

How does that end any DeBrincat discussion? To CHI, taking on Muzzin's cap hit would just be scratching TOR's back. We don't need him in the least bit. But that package won't get Cat even without Muzzin.

Muzzin has NTC...He isn't waiving his "hometown" Leafs who have a good hockey team to an non playoff team. Oh, as a Leaf fan I would love Muzzin to waive his NTC and free that 5.6m cap...but it ain't happening. It's just an silly Leaf fan post.

or maybe, just maybe, context is lacking? 3 team trades can happen. i did this to show cap swap. he would waive for LA if they want him. i fully stated in this that i am not sure what it will take, but it will be more than i have here. so no, it is not a "silly leaf fan post"

Sorry, virtually any Muzzin trade is a "silly leaf post". It's like a child "I want, I want". In this CF...it's " I want cap, I want cap."
Why would LA want a player who certainly last season didn't play up to his cap. And looks like maybe he can't be in the lineup regularly. Teams don't trade for these players. Just a lot more certainly to spend on cap better
And what is Muzzin's motivation to leave a very good team to go to a non playoff team?

Oh ok. I feel you. From my perspective Muzzin was just there to clear cap space anyway. A Debrincat trade wouldn't really be dependent upon Muzzin coming back for CHI.

Knies could be that too though thats the thing. The way scouts and sports analysts have been talking about this kid, it does seem like he has a really high ceiling
