Chicago declines probably, they aren't dreaming of playoffs they need those 1sts. I still don't want petry in detroit, I just hate the contract.

Anderson for a pick that's 11th worse case would at least be worth considering for Chicago. Especially since if Chicago's bad enough they would be giving up Tampa's pick instead.

I think its too much, a 1st for a winger whos a 40pt guy. Its a bit rich not an early 1st atleast. I see Chicago needing the picks more

It's also less than what Arizona got for Dvorak, and I think Anderson is the better player. Maybe Chicago isn't the right fit, but they're the only other team with 2 1sts next year, so they're the only team the Habs can guarantee a 1st from even with lottery protection.

21 points in his last 30 games, as a defenseman, is a cap dump apparently

Just think why would Detroit do this? We know why Habs would do it but why would Detroit?

LMFAO

I legitimately only made that trade to get a trash goalie to tank easier

Because they get a top 2 defenseman for the cost of moving down by a few picks

But detroit like Montreal is rebuilding..
Yes Detroit would like to add, but add future core players, not guys over 30

That Calgary pick is currently 26th. Next year Detroit will still be a bottom 10 team so interesting use of a “few”. So Detroit currently has Seider, Hronek, Lindstrom as RHD as every Hab fan should know by now. Yzerman has stated numerous times he wants to acquire guys that fit his age core group. So again why does Detroit do this for an aging defensemen? How about Detroit 1st + 2nd for Habs 2022 1st since it’s only a few picks?

Doesn’t matter if it’s less Arizona got or whatever u said anderson is not worth a first to Chicago theyre a rebuilding team so what if they have 2 firsts they need both of em they aren’t handing them out for 40 point players, Chicago hangs up the phone so fast Hughes can’t even finish his sentence that would be horrendous for the hawks with next draft being deep and then hoping Tampa’s cap problems catch up to them

Not being rude, but in what world would CHI a rebuilding team give up their better 1st round pick for a player who although I believe is a good hockey player is a nothing move for CHI.

With no 1st in this years draft, next years is vitally important to our rebuild and you will likely find we would prefer to acquire more if possible rather than trade away.

So Wings get a player who, does not fit rebuild, is costly and is not a player of need and all for a pick that is not a few but probably 10 picks different. Sorry Wings in rebuild and all though they are getting better they are not making this kind of deal. Maybe two to three years from now, depending on where they are in rebuild, but sorry not now.
