Fiala

Created by: Devsfan25
Team: 2022-23 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 6, 2022
Published: Jun. 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'd honestly rather create a package like Sharangovich, Zacha, 2OA for Tkachuk but would be alright with this package for Fiala. Think this team would actually compete for a playoff spot. And for gods sake, fire Lindy Ruff and hire Bruce Cassidy

This is one of the more fair offers I’ve seen from a Devs fan for Fiala. I’m sure Guerin would prefer Holtz over Sharan but that’s irrelevant at this point in time.

Holtz won’t be included in deal for Fiala. Only player in league we’d probably offer Holtz for is Tkachuk

Holtz is an elite prospect who projects to be a 30+ goal scorer. We’re not giving him up unless absolutely necessary. Considering the little leverage the Wild truly have, they should take this if they were smart. Sharangovich can slot into ur top 6, Smith can slide into ur D pairings, and a mid round pick

The fact that you think you know anything about how much leverage Guerin will and won’t have astonishes me. Holtz would be lucky to do what Fiala is already doing. I’m not saying this is a bad offer but you’re also acting like NJ is the only team in the running. I personally would rather have Sharan over Holtz but I can see Guerin being more interested in Holtz rather than Sharan because Holtz is a right handed shooter and is on an ELC for the next few years.

Almost no cap space and a GM who has basically bashed Fiala in the media. Really helping him leverage a trade.

Smith is surplus to requirements. And Sharangovich isn't a legit top 6er. And a mid round licker is nothing. Especially with a late rounder going the other way

And you're reasoning for bot being willing to move Hiltz is because he is supposed to be future 30 goal scorer? Lmfao you do realize you're getting a proven 30 goalscorer in return, right? How does that go over your head?

I'll never understand how so many hockey fans can't wrap their head around the whole "you have to give up good pieces to get to good pieces" part of negotiations

Sharangovich has more value than Holtz at this point, so any trade that wouldn’t have the latter, is not likely to have the former.

“If Boldy would have been there all year, Kevin probably scores 100 points.” - Bill Guerin, 2 weeks ago

….yes, truly a horrific bashing. I mean, my god, have some mercy.

Don't play pretend like you didn't see those comments he made about Fiala's "3 good months." Russo himself even said that was a bad statement

I listened to the entire interview along with the follow up one.

If you choose to believe that other GMs are going to interpret that as Guerin bashing Fiala rather than defending Dumba, and furthermore, that it legitimately affects his trade value, then I’d deeply question your critical thinking skills.

It’s the most old school boys club imaginable. If Guerin calls up his buddy Fitz, you really think Fitz is gonna say “well you said the 3 good months comment, so here’s my lowball offer…”

Lol how delusional can you be? They’re gonna hob knob back and forth and there’s either a fit or there’s not. But I can guarantee you that comment could not be any less relevant for both GMs.

I’ll be disappointed if the return is underwhelming, but not necessarily surprised. A lot can change, but right now its looking like a pretty flush market for good wingers. Which obviously drives down his value, as does our cap situation.

But Guerins radio interviews sure as heck aren’t what I’m worried about in terms of an underwhelming return. Many many other factors more important than that.
