Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Kirk, Liam
  2. Little, Bryan ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Phil Kessel (Signing Rights)

What Ottawa gets is Bryan Little contract that is put on LTIR so it doesn't affect their cap. Phil Kessles signing rights that really don't amount to anything and a interesting albeit unprobably young player to make the NHL. He would give Bellville more offense and could potentially fight for a bottom six role down the line.
ARI
  1. White, Colin
Additional Details:
So you may be deeply confused about this trade Ottawa gives up a low risk high reward player that could potentially be a decent top six player in Arizona that could also shelter the young players and count against Arizona's cap. He could potentially be a great two way center for them and could help mentor their locker rooom and young players.
2.
OTT
  1. Myers, Philippe
Additional Details:
Ottawa gets a big physical defenseman that could slot into the third pair and help Brannstrom in his own zone. He right now doesn't have much of an opportunity in Nashville and maybe in Ottawa he could unlock some upside although that is unprobable. It's also very similar salary going in and out so I don't think anybody needs either guy retained. Especially considering the wealth of cap space that both teams have.
NSH
  1. Del Zotto, Michael
  2. 2024 4th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
*Pick is conditional

If Del Zotto plays 30 games then the pick is transfered back to Ottawa.

It's a depth move were Nashville acquires more offensive depth from the blueline and give up a little bit of size and physicality. He would also help out Milwakwe cause he could probably be sent down and if you want him resigned as a 7th or 8th D for close to league minimum then that is possible.
3.
OTT
CAR
  1. Zaitsev, Nikita
Additional Details:
Hear me out...

If you shelter Zaitsev then at half retained he could actually be a pretty good asset in the third paring and would do very well blocking shots and might MIGHT provide a little bit of offense while being very defensively resposible. And if you look across the league this is pretty much the going price for a decent 3rd RD.
4.
OTT
CAR
    Sorry he is half retained.

    2 250 000$ retained in Zaitsev trade.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Cutter goes at 5 or 6 and both Savoie and Kemell drop

What is the Canes trade? NZ half retained for what? Are you taking Gardiner back?

Future Considerations. Or potentially Gardner depending on the years left on his deal. But if you look around the league that Canes trade is the amount of cap you have to spend for a decent third pair defenseman.

Maybe, I think it's possible he gets to 7th OA and if Ottawa trades that pick I'm gonna go balistic cause I think he would be a great addition to the team cause he fits their identity. Maybe you strick a deal with Columbus to get the 6thOA pick if he is still there.

I’d rather they take Savoie or Kemell or Jiricek but I wouldn’t be mad if they took him

This is a pretty good article that explains why they should take him: https://thehockeywriters.com/senators-2022-nhl-draft-target-cutter-gauthier/

For some of the later picks I looked at this: https://thehockeywriters.com/2022-nhl-draft-sharks-late-round-steals/

I am straight up NOT on the Cutter train.

Because he fits the "style" of player they have already draft is a terrible excuse for why the *should* target him.

I mean, he is an Ottawa pick to a tee though. He's got NHL bloodlines something Dorian loves. He's got size, and complete two way game and a lot of offensive potential. All things Dorian loves and he's got a scrapy gritty style that Dorian loves. He is also a University commitement which is something that the Sens love so I would be very suprised to see the Sens skip out on him if he is available.

Lots of prospects have a higher ceiling, and more complete game. Hes a jack of all trades, but master of none. OTT doesnt need more likely middle/bottom 6. I have him at 15

Im honestly so tired of drafting out of the same systems because we refuse to pay adequate scouting staff.

Im so tired of picking NHL bloodlines. I wish OTT would invest more into analytics based drafting.

He's been advertised as having one of the most complete games out of the draft and that he could be an enormous steal.

There was a great hockey writers article on him that you might want to read. It's posted in this thread.
