Secondly, that deal would make Edmonton SUCH an undesirable place for FA's to sign. It is well-known how Nuge came through with a team-friendly deal to stay in Edmonton. WHo knows what he could have made on the open market. Business or not, players make note of these things. He may make a drastic move, but it won't involve Nugent-Hopkins, (Puljujarvi might want to get his luggage out of storage! First candidate, IMO)

I actually fully agree with this it's just I don't know what asset brings in that much. Jesse and yams will be undersold by other teams wanting to take advantage of holland so I really don't know what other player. He is in love with hyman and kane and no shot even holland is dumb enough to trade drai. Maybe he ships out Hollaway after one game

Getting a quality d-man is such a tough undertaiking! (Jets fans can tell you.) With the last move Holland made on this front (Keith), you would think he'd have learnt his lesson!!

How is goaltending not priority one for the Oilers this off-season? They just can't move forward with Smith as their starter, can they?? . . . and it would be brutal to rush Skinner in a situation where they are in "win now" mode. Love Smith's competitiveness, but he has to be one of the most erratic and inconsistent goalies I've seen in a long time, and good god he's old!!!
