Description
Since St Louis' arrival , Petry has regained a good portion of his production from last year. If he wishing to stay, I'd keep him because he's on a good contract if he manages to score 50 pts.

If Price and the doctors come to the conclusion that he's no longer fit to play and he becomes LTIRetired, I would like the habs to take on bad contracts and wait out our bad contracts before making a splash in the FA market. ( Drouin's and Byron's contract over , one less year on Armia's contract )

Giving cap space to the Panthers to be able to re-sign players this offseason. With the Yandle buyout and Barkov increase, they have about 4 M$ to re-sign Marchment, Mamim and maybe other players. That 5.3 M$ could be put to way better use for the panthers. For MTL , acquire a player that can be sold at the deadline as a rental.

If the flames want to re-sign Tkachuk gaudreau Mangiapane and Kylington, something has to give. I would think they'd prefer to move Lucic, but i highly doubt that they'll be able to move him. So Monahan is the second in line. Coming off his surgery, I don't think that the Flames can roll the dice on him at his price tag.

Montreal next season won't be competing for anything, so might as well gamble on him to bounce back, to maybe resell at a profit at the deadline.

I don't really know about this one,but the rumour mill is sending Gallagher to LA . I don't think with his contract , it's really feasable but I tried to match the values. Tell me if its lopsided.

Gallagher has significant negative value in my opinion.

Idk if Poehling and a 2nd is enough, assuming the 3rd is to take on Gallagher's monstrosity contract.

Gallagher without at least 40% retention would realistically preclude any other significant move, particularly acquiring a #1 LD like Jakob Chychrun, which is a far greater priority than acquiring an expensive, aged veteran whose production is declining and is due $34 million over the balance of his contract.

If we really need the cap this offseason for a good reason , i'd be willing to throw calgary's first instead of the second

        1) Kaliyev is off limits.
        2) Wouldn't want Gallagher unless there was 50% retained, and even then I wouldn't spend a quality asset for him.
        3) Poehling doesn't crap the top 4 or 5 center prospects we have, falling behind Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari, and likely Jaret Anderson-Dolan. No desire for him.
        4) 2nd and 3rd round picks are an insult in terms of the amount needed to give to LA to take Gallagher's contract, along with asking for their best scoring prospect in return.

Those are just a couple of quick reasons why LA says no.

Honestly I think LA thinks Gallagher has value, especially since Bergevin's there
