Why not just trade Kap for Zacha?

Basically it is a trade for Kappy and Zacha. Just wanted to add a weird blockbuster between NJ and CHI involving Zacha+2nd overall for DeBrincat+Stillman, then Zacha getting traded from CHI to Kappy because they need a RW.

Kappy and a first (even the second overall) are not going to get you Debrincat.

Ehh, the guy has been under some rumors and I don't think there's much more getting offered for him. Plus the fact they don't have a first rounder in this draft can make it look more interesting for them.

Regardless even if CHI wasn't moving DeBrincat, then it would be just a swap with NJ involving Zacha and Kappy, which is quite close. Maybe PIT adds a pick.

There's no way Kapanen and the 2nd overall pick gets you Alex DeBrincat, Hawks will want far more than that.

And there's zero chance any one team gets Johnny Gaudreau for $10,000,000 x 7 years, There will so many bidders on him i doubt he signs for anything less than $11,000,000 x 7 years if not slightly more.

Doubt it. With the covid break and whatnot the owners will not be willing to spend mega sums just yet, they first need to get their own money back. $10M is pretty fair.

If Debrincat for 2nd overall doesn't happen, then it's just a Kappy for Zacha swap.

I could see the Detroit trade happening, there's some sense to it. Still hate it though.

idk if you read the rumours but they legit came out and said "you have to blow our socks off like the hagel trade" they arent activly trying to move him they will need a massive haul to even consider it teams would easily outbid that offer not often 40 goal scorers are moved

Fwiw it's even rarer to see a 2nd overall pick being moved, but yeah NJ might have to add on it a bit.
