SJ Trade For Ethan Bear Offer Sheet Roy Sign Marchment and Trade Burns to Pens

Created by: CheechYou

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 8, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Roster Notes and Thoughts:

- I could see Bear getting a contract with less cap hit
- Sharks have ample space here to resign Meier (they can buy out Vlasic next season on top of this to create even more room)
- Bear is likely not resigning in CAR. I think he's a great candidate for SJ for a multitude of reasons.
- If Letang signs elsewhere, the Burns deal makes a load of sense for PIT
- Roy is exactly the player the Sharks need. I've been making a case for him for weeks but it just makes a world of sense. Sharks need a top-6 quality guy, ideally who's a big body and can play physical, and even more ideally a guy who's a right-handed shot, and most ideally, who can also play center in case Bordeleau needs time in the NHL.
- Marchment, as we know, has ties to SJ through his dad who's an all-time fan favorite and who also works in Sharks management currently. He also fits the mold of getting an excellent middle-six player who's physical and can drive play -- a perfect match to play with Bordeleau.
- Realize and Simek are jettisonable. I can see OTT, ARI, and SEA as 3 teams who'd be wise to take a flyer on those guys while also possible getting something to take them on.

Probably an overpay for Bear who may not get a QO. Similar deal to Hill last year where a team likely isn’t in a position to keep the player and the sharks overpay for them.

Agreed it's probably a slight overpay. Still think it's a good fit for SJ (I think Hill was the right move last summer too, but a 2nd was too much. Here at least it's a 3rd+Bonino.).

I don't think Ottawa will agree. Lots of talk that they're going to be buyers in the summer and aim for a playoff comeback. Unless our new GM fools Dorion or we have to sweeten it up a little more. I like the way of Burns's trade, but I really don't wanna lose him(((( (I prefer to retain only 2mil.)

Yes The only players they should be looking to add are :

    - Veteran Top-6 Winger
