No way we trade a top 6 winger, very solid D prospect, and very promising goalie prospect for a backup and a cap dump contract. No interest in Burns and not really interested in Kahkonen

Also no chance Roy signs that, he's worth 3.5-4.5 mil for that amount of term.

Cool were in the same boat! sharks don't consider either. Kahkonen is our starter next year and burns is our best D by a mile.

With the direction San Jose should be going (rebuild), they would be pretty dumb to pass on dumping Burns at 8 mil and gaining some really solid pieces to build a team on

Yes it is unfortunate that they want to still be "competitive." Too many albatross contracts imo to be anything but a fringe playoff team, may as well just cut the losses and rebuild the team around guys like Eklund, Bordeleau, Coe, Ferraro and whoever you get in the 1st round of 2022 (I'm thinking one of the high offense LHD like Mintyukov, Korchinski, or Mateychuk)
