I think you made a mistake. Talbot and Zuc should be worth multiple firsts as well, shouldn't they?

That's nuts dude
Habs don't do that in a million years
Give us Fiala and Rossi + 19th overall and we'll think about it

The only basis for a trade in the top 2 in the cap era is Phil Kessel, which netted Boston 2 OVR. Phil Kessel in his prime is not equal to Fiala, Rossi and a mid first.

This is terrible dude, the only realistic deals is the Fiala and Talbot deals. Dumba isn’t worth a 1st unless he’s getting traded at the deadline, Kulikov is worth a 4th round pick at best, Zucc will likely never be traded and there is no way in hell that the Habs are trading the 1st overall pick.

Pretty high price considering Rossi would go 1st overall if he was in this draft year. And you want Fiala + 19th overall.

rossi would not go first overall for the same reason he did not go first in 2020 and same reason savoie wont go first : size.

Even if he doesn't go 1st, the difference between him and Wright certainly isn't Fialia + 19ov. Take where Rossi went in 2020 at 9th. It wouldn't cost those two to make up the difference

well first overall trade are pretty hard to value, since they never really happens. so im thinking gross overpay that no one would find fair is my bet.

As the Los Angeles GM, I think you're Alex Turcotte short on that Fiala deal (assuming that there's an "understanding" about his future contract).

There is not a reality in the multiverse of realities, where anyone would pay a 1st for Kulikov… and there’s even less chance it would be WPG

Difference is Dumba is coming off a major injury and you can just about expect him to annually miss 1/4th of every season for the rest of his career, plus he’s a turnover/mistake machine. If all you needed as a team was a defenseman whose sole strength is offense and the rest is below average then sure you can trade a 1st for him but he’s not worth a 1st anymore. Only reason the Sabres got such a good package in return for Risto last year is because Chuck Fletcher quite possibly is the worst GM in the league.

how many time do i have this discussion here : look at savard, chiarot, risto, skej, very meh D traded for first rounder. a first is not an overpay, its the norm. Teams are struggling to find good denfeseman and are ready to pay a prenium for them. the argument cant be all GMs are bad. dumba is definitly worth a first still even if he declined.

Since it's between two prospects, it's a little bit easier imo. Would you rather have Wright or Rossi + Fiala + 18ov? Both Wright and Rossi have top-line upside and Fiala is a bonafide 1st liner. I don't think you need to overpay for something that can be gauged.

In what world is Kulikov worth a 1st?! I wouldn’t even give a 3rd for him he’s a career average third pairing d man

i mean you have to overpay just because you would trade for a first overall pick. i agree with you its too much, i would remove the 19 for sure. and as a rebuilding team, i would rather have wright than fiala + rossi, it just makes more sense to us. so even tough the '' value'' of rossi + fiala for first overall might be close (its ok if you diasagree, its more just to give an exemple), i still dont think its worth it to do the trade, so then you would have to overpay. and i could understand aswell if you did not want to do the trade still from a wild perspective.

Savard, Chairot, and Skjei we’re all deadline trades. I said Dumba isn’t worth a first unless he’s being traded at the deadline. Everyone knows Fletcher overpaid for Risto so he’s an anomaly. Nobody is giving up yo 1st for Dumba during the off season.
